Default Connection failed help?

Can anyone help me?

My PS4 and PS5 will connect to internet now, for some reason. Connection test says failed at internet. I'm guessing it may have been after a game update or system update. My ps5 got hott t u rned off and tgis is when I noticed it wouldn't connect after that. I have tried turning router off and on. And resetting it. Everything else in house connects to internet. Started having this issue last night. Nothing I do will help.

I had a router once that wouldn't connect my phone. No matter what the guy did. And everything else connected. But my playstations have been connected with this router for a couple of years since we got new 1.

How are you connecting? Wifi or ethernet? If by wifi, unplug the modem from the wall and the back of the modem. Unplug the router from the wall and then the back of the router. Go into your console network settings and forget the existing networks you've been using. Hard shut down the console either by holding down the power button or by going into the power options and choosing shut down (not rest mode). Unplug the console power cord. Wait a minute. Plug console back in. Plug modem back in at the wall and then the unit. Plug the router back in at the wall, and then the unit. wait 3-5 minutes for everything to reboot. Turn console on. Navigate to network connection and search for a new connection. Re-add one/both of the networks you are using in your home.

If possible, if this doesn't work, try connecting things via ethernet.

One last item to consider... most routers broadcast in 2 or 3 signals. 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz are the two most common. 6Ghz is a newer signal that newer routers will have if made in the last few years. Be sure to check/add all the network id's to your console if you are having issues. I've had a lot of bad luck over the years with the 5GHz band randomly dropping at times on my router. It always comes back after a bit, but if it happens quickly it can cause IP issues for your consoles. By adding both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies you can double check to make sure that the router isn't simply malfunctioning on one, but not the other.

I got connected now. Now my ps5 just lagging non stop. Only game not lagging is rush week from Texas chainsaw massacre. But right now I'm experiencing network errors for tcm and mw3. Been lagging 4 months. Pretty extreme
