there is some debate in the PS4 section if this is 3D. If both eyes get the same image then it is not 3D

On another note: The amount of graphics memory available could easily render two simultaneous 1080p images. My 660Ti can do it and it is only a 2GB card. The fps drop isn't as much as one would expect rendering two images. I only get a drop between 5-15fps. Last edited by keb33509; 03-23-2014 at 10:45 PM. |

Odd decision. I assume they will add it later? But we also made that assumption about the PS4 and 3D Blu-ray support.
Sony has really backed off 3D gaming, enough to kill my interest in the PS4. PC and Oculus Rift will undoubtedly be the way to go for 3D enthusiasts. |

Its 3d capable. Would be really odd if it werent as 3d is big part of the VR experience. Above quote is from me too. |

Thanks. I'm waiting to hear about 3D VR games, but so far, I haven't seen the words stereo 3D and PS VR together. VR would be amazing with stereo 3D and pull the gamer into the world much more IMO, much like most of us see in our real world; with dimension.
I'm going to wait awhile before considering the VR PS4 tech, as the $400+ price point is not something I'm interesting in investing in at this time. New tech hopefully will drop in price soon, but hopefully not because it's in the bargain bin anytime soon. ![]() |

It think it needs to be stereoscopic & at least 1080p to simulate full virtual reality .
monoscopic is ok for now , but eventually it needs to be stereo. I will probable get one because i like to be a early adopter , but VR is in its infancy now... i hope it will eventually turn out to be more immersive experience than monoscopic VR is. ![]() |

monoscopic VR is a thing? Why even bother?
I'd been hoping the advent of VR would lead to a new wave of 3-D stereoscopic games. It'll be a long time before there's as many VR headsets out there as there are 3-D tvs, and the gaming hardware should be mature enough to handle 3-D without too much compromise this generation. |
