Red face Life After the Goonies

Hi everyone, hope you don’t mind my posting here but this community has been so supportive of my other documentaries! Thought some people might be interested, I’ve just launched a crowdfund for my latest in the series - Life After the Goonies

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...er-the-goonies

BluRay is available as just a disc and also Collector Bundle (with extra goodies). Open for suggestions as to what I should include as bonus features too!

Will probably go for English, Spanish, and German subtitles. Any other key ones?

Thanks everyone!
Lisa

Very interested in this Lisa and will keep a close eye on this.

However, due to major waits with other Kickstarter/Indegogo campaigns I'm reluctant to back any more (almost 8 years for Robodoc, and currently sitting at 6 years so far for the Police Academy doc; fully appreciate those are done by different guys, but it's put me off crowdfunding).

I appreciate that, some projects do take a long time. My first doc took 5 years! However, I do plan to have this out end of next year for the anniversary and I can say that confidentially having now released three, with two more in production. But completely appreciate your hesitations with crowdfunding! I really do, and you have to do what is right for you

In this case I wouldn’t personally hesitate at all, with the track-record and quality of Lisa’s Documentaries from the past. To me it’s just obvious, that she knows what she’s doing, would finish those projects nevertheless, but with a bit of upfront support the process could be done so much faster and with the needed financial founds to do it properly. To me its now way more like a pre-order and not just a regular crowdfunding project. So if there is currently one project on Kickstarter one should definitely support without any doubts, it’s this one - in my opinion.

Greetings from Germany: Chris

PS: I supported personally her last three Kickstarter projects and they were the best, most professional and well thought out projects I was involved so far - with ongoing insights, updates and a really personal approach to the project. It’s really night and day to other projects, where you don’t hear from them after the original campaign sometimes for years. It’s just awesome and kind of the perfect way Kickstarter should be handled in my opinion and experience.

Do you take idea requests? Would you consider doing a sequel to Life after The Neverending Story? The sequel is very underrated and Jonathan Brandis life ended up tragically, it needs to be talked about.

I do love hearing peoples ideas, as I love knowing what people want, they have to be films I just love and also the opportunity to do them. I don’t have that big of a connection to the 2nd one, and I’d just worry the audience wouldn’t be there for it. But I loved Jonathan Brandis! So sad what happened

I backed this as soon as it dropped. The Goonies is especially a fond fave movie of mine

A bonus feature I'd like to see is a visit to some of the movie locations where it was shot, which was mainly in Oregon. This is something that 88 Films tend to do for their HK flicks and it's something I enjoy watching.

I've never backed something like this, but I happily threw some money behind it as this is one of my favorite films. Looking forward to seeing it!

Just a quick reminder:

Only three days are left to join the current Kickstarter Campaign and support this very worthwhile project!

Haven't checked the pledged total in the last week, but nice to see it's so close to meeting its goal! This is the first movie I've backed and it looks delightful, so really hope it hits the goal!

Yesterday Sean Astin & Corey Feldman themselves showed support and posted about supporting this new documentary on their Twitter Profiles and afterwards the goal was reached within a few hours!

But there are still two more days to go and every support helps in giving this project the needed proper founding.

I studied Media Science myself and was involved in a few university projects and can see how much work, passion and time Lisa and her Team are putting into those projects. Hopefully this new attention and visibility of the project can help to strengthen the financial side of this documentary even more!

Chris

Yeah, M&M helped out. That was a wonderful surprise.

I’m glad I’ve backed this project. It’s gonna be a nice companion piece for the movie.

Totally agree on both. Although I know it will be a little while, I'm excited to see the finished product! And I pledged at a level that gets me Blu-rays of this film, plus the three previous Life After documentaries, which will be great to add to my collection.

Thank you so much! Once the campaign clicks over, I'll get those first 3 BluRays out to you, then I can't wait to share updates on the Goonies production! So grateful for the crowdfund support

So pleased that this one is going to be happening. It's one of my all-time favourite movies and probably the film I have the fondest memories of. I can still remember picking up the trading cards/bubblegum packs back in the day, and wondering what the hell the deal was with the damned Octopus...like WHAT Octopus?!
