Warner Bros The LEGO Movie 4K UHD (2014)

The Lego Movie 4K Blu-ray
Quote:
THE LEGO MOVIE
From Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures and directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street), The LEGO Movie is the hilarious story of a nobody who saves everybody. The LEGO Movie stars Chris Pratt as the voice of Emmet, an ordinary LEGO minifigure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, and Will Ferrell as the voice of President Business, aka Lord Business, an uptight CEO who has a hard time balancing world domination with micro-managing his own life. Voicing the members of Emmet's rebel crew on this heroic mission are Morgan Freeman (Oblivion) as the ancient mystic Vitruvius; Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games) as tough-as-nails Wyldstyle, who mistakes Emmet for the savior of the world and guides him on his quest; Will Arnett (The Millers) as the mysterious Batman, a LEGO minifigure with whom Wyldstyle shares a history; Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) as the craggy, swaggering pirate Metal Beard, obsessed with revenge on Lord Business; Alison Brie (Community) as the sweet and loveable Unikitty and Charlie Day (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) as Benny, the 1980-something Spaceman.

From a story by Dan Hageman, Kevin Hageman, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, The LEGO Movie was produced by Dan Lin and Roy Lee, with Jill Wilfert, Matthew Ashton, Kathleen Fleming, Allison Abbate, Zareh Nalbandian, Jon Burton, Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Seanne Winslow, Matt Skiena and Bruce Berman serving as executive producers, and John Powers Middleton as co-producer.

The LEGO Movie will be available on Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack for $44.95 SRP, and features an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc with the feature film in 4K with HDR, a Blu-ray disc with the feature film and special features in HD, and a Digital HD version of the feature film. Fans can also own The LEGO Movie in 4K Ultra HD via purchase from select digital retailers.

The Blu-ray Disc will contain the following special features in HD:
  • Feature commentary
  • Batman: A True Artist
  • Michelangelo and Lincoln: History Cops
  • Enter the Ninjago
  • Bringing LEGO® to Life
  • Everything is Awesome" Sing-Along
  • See it! Build it!
  • Stories from the Story Team
  • Fan-Made Films: Top Secret Submissions
  • Outtakes
  • Additional Promotional Content
  • Alleyway Test
  • Deleted Scenes

so will it be a composite release of the first release AND the more recent Target edition (with exclusive content and commentary tracks) - sure I might by it.

I wouldn't recommend it. This movie was finished at 2K and there is a 3D Blu-ray available.

No reason to buy the upscaled, 2D UHD Blu-ray version. Stereoscopic 3D > HDR

Along with The Martian, this is one of the titles that I'm most looking forward to getting!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the original Blu-ray of The Lego Movie did not have Atmos, right?

True, it was DTS-HD MA 5.1 but that doesn't mean they haven't gone back and remastered it for Atmos.

Sorry. I think that picture actually was the back of the San Andreas cover. Sorry for that. I have removed the picture from my earlier post.

Crap. That's too bad. I was hoping the Blu-ray versions included with the UHD would get an Atmos upgrade.

I have another, much less clear, picture that I know is from the back of the Lego Movie cover. It is difficult to read, but I am almost sure it says DTS-HD Master on sound format under regular blu-ray.

Edit.
Better shown in the post below.

Yes, I think the original mix should be preserved on the UHD disc....
