So no Z series this year? It'll be interesting to see the differences between the X95L and X93L.

Robert, I quickly glanced at the 85" and 75" sheets. They say "sound poisoning speakers". Is that right? I've never heard that term.

I'm glad they have the 32gb storage, I wish they would all have at least 128gb. Will have to keep an eye out for the 75 and 85 prices.

Sony upgrade the X93L's built-in audio system with more powerful amplifiers, better speakers and more speakers.

The X93L uses the TV's bezel for the tweeters so they surround the TV and deliver the high frequency sound waves very accurately and clearly with a larger sound stage footprint that still maintains the correct directional sound.

The X93L has two built-in sub woofers, up-firing Dolby Atmos/DTX:S speakers and left/right speakers, and a dedicated center channel.

I'm pretty sure it is a typo and they meant "positioning."

No doubt. My mind went to a "Knives Out" sequel where the Sony TV was the murder weapon.

Sorry for not noticing the "poisoning" typo when I responded with the technical information on Sony's built-in audio upgrades for the 2023 X93L!

How does the 85X95K compare to the 85X93L? Is the 93L a step down?

Not at all, it's a slight improvement.

The way I've understood it, the X93L is, hardware-wise, essentially the same TV as the X95K. The improvements lie on the software side of things, where it gets an improved local dimming algorithm, as well as the same game bar as the rest of the 'L' lineup.

All correct, plus just wanted to add that I'm expecting some additional performance enhancements from the new 2023 MiniLED panels throughout all of the X93L screen sizes.

How does the 85X95K compare to this year's 85X95L then?

To accurately answer that we'll have to see a mass production 85X95L next to the 85X95K.

However, from what I've seen and expect the 85X95L will be a nice moderate upgrade in several attributes. I expect we'll see the X95L with a higher peak luminance and even more important a lower minimal luminance level along with excellent tone mapping and the overall contrast control.

Sony's 85X95L will launch this month and we'll see a lot of reviews and comments from consumers and professional TV reviewers.

Sony's new 2023 X93L MiniLED has enhanced the deep rich blacks with very nice peak luminance. Sony's well respected Back Light Master Drive with the new XR processor upgrades perfectly follow the Dynamic EOTF for the best possible SDR and HDR Tone Mapping which delivers all content with depth and detailed image quality that have a natural 3D look.

Sony was very kind to us again and we now have the fist allocation/shipment of the 2023 X93L MiniLED TVs in our store.

Until we start the X93L thread and since it's also one of Sony's new 2023 Bravia XR Series MiniLED guess that is much like it's big brother, the X95L so I'd like to share this very good X93L information.

Check out Brian's Tech Therapy excellent 25 minute presentation on Sony's 2023 X93L MiniLED TV with his 1st Impressions.
