Newly restored in 4K by Toho, the BFI is delighted to be able to rerelease this all-time classic on Blu-ray in a limited edition 2-disc set with a book, a set of four postcards and a double-sided poster.

I am wondering the same to be honest. The 4K single issue has already been released, but nothing in terms of blu ray single release.

I wonder if they’re just gonna keep the ‘Akira Kurosawa Samurai Collection’ set in print and not bother with individual releases of those. Probably figure the majority of people who want these films on blu-ray without the tat will have, or will continue to, buy that one, and people who care about the upgrade will have a 4K set-up?

Or maybe they’ll do a new version of that collection with all of the new 2K releases once they’ve all come and been sold out?

The 1080p was an upgrade from the one in the Samurai Collection set, right?

Yes, the LE BD of Seven Samurai was sourced from the new 4K resto, while the Samurai collection and previous individual release were from an older resto.
