Default Looking for some input on TV buying

I like to do my research when making major purchases. I want to help my brother do the same. He wants a 42" set for under $1500. He is not particular on 720p or 1080p, which is good because he wouldn't get 1080p for under that more than likely. He is also flexible on Plasma and LCD. My advice was the 42" Panasonic 720p Plasma on sale at Circuit City for $1099. Any input would be appreciated I am welcome to all suggestions.

That is what i came up with in my research. And thanks for the welcome, I love Blu-Ray, now i just wish i had a 1080p TV for the full effect, but dayum does it still look good on 720p

hmmm perhaps the fact that there seems to be hundreds of these a day is why i'm short on advice haha. but hey I figure it's a constructive way to get members to push up their post count lol.

Will he settle for a 40"?

This Samsung LN-T4061F is $1549 today at CC. I've got a 4665F and love it.

Just don't buy Visio or other off brand if going with LCD. I've told my friends to stick with the 3 S's when considering LCD. Sony, Samsung or Sharp.

Plasma would be either P's = Panasonic or Pioneer.

I like my 1080p. I think it was a wise investment

Get the Panny and u will not look back. He should consider 1080p set which is prob around 200-300 more than 720p I think. It depends o if they have on sale. I got mine 1080p set for about $1200 at FRY'S so Just keep ur eyes open.
