On September 6th Sony Music will release David Gilmour's new album Luck and Strange on multiple formats including Blu-ray Audio.

The Blu-ray edition features Dolby Atmos and high-resolution stereo mixes as well as four bonus tracks.

As huuuuge a Floyd fan as I am -- of every era of the band, including the Gilmour-led years -- I've oddly never been into any of their solo works. But really glad he's still out there doin' it. And I am interested to hear the title track "Luck and Strange", which has the late great Richard Wright on it.

Hilarious, though, how the new album art makes me think of the bat$h!t crazy ending of the old Disney movie THE BLACK HOLE.

I enjoy this Blu Ray Audio album.

I look forward to seeing the tour in November.

I find Romany Gilmour's work on this album compelling and hope she has a fun career in music ahead of her.

If you want a hint of what is here then just listen to the ATMOS mix online. This blu ray ATMOS version isn't tied to a lavish box set and I am very happy with it.
