EA has announced Battlefront 2 that will feature bigger better worlds, and include content from the new films.

Well after jacking the season pass up to 69.99 in Canada right before the first dlc hit in BF1, I'd say they can shove this where the sun doesn't shine.

Very disappointed the next one won't center around the Clone Wars. So many cool planets and characters in the prequel trilogy. Since they said they plan on more than one sequel, hopefully we still get a Clone Wars game further down the line.

I'm a fan of the new film and characters. Will be cool to see Kylo Ren, Rey, Poe, Finn and more as the heroes. But yes to the Clone Wars era also in the future.

Dice needs to double the size of their current team so they can tackle the Multiplayer and separately have the 2nd team tackle the single player content. For such a huge company like EA, not sure why that's not happened yet.

So the last DLC for Battlefront and Battlefront 2 will be really close or overlap each other?

I heard the final DLC will remain in the original trilogy era, while the 2nd game is another time period in the films.

Good question. I wonder if SWBF2 will arrive in unison with 2017's VIII. That would be better timing since SWBF2 will take place in that era.

After hearing about so many bugs and glitches in the first game, you would think they would work to fix the first one before moving on to a sequel???

I agree, Fall to November 2017. Very interested in seeing if they offer more up front this 2nd game or take the same route as the first one.

Derb, knowing you're a fan, would you say the first one on ps4 is one of your most played games of the year so far?

Defintely ranks up there. I can only think of Witcher 3 maybe taking up as much time as I put into Battlefront. So I think it's fair to say yeah, SW is my most played PS4 game. Last year we had an excellent year for gaming but most were massive SP open world games that once I finished didn't redo. Fallout maybe my third most played. Least amount of time played is easy, The Order. Played & finished it in 2 seperate playthroughs of around 4 hours each.

Seeing what Dice was able to achieve with Battlefront & having full access to the Lucas archives I think made the game what it is today. If they are allowed access for future games I have no doubt in my mind the next game will be nothing short of brilliant.

Unless they put more effort into the single player portion of this game, I'm never buying it again.

They need to bring back character classes like in Battlefront 2 on PS2. I miss that game

Basic Units

• Standard Infantry - This includes the Clone Trooper (Republic), Super Battle Droid (CIS), Rebel Soldier (Rebellion), and Stormtrooper (Empire). Equipped with a blaster rifle, blaster pistol, and thermal detonators (with the exception of the Super Battle Droid, which is equipped with a wrist blaster, tri-shot blaster, and wrist rockets). This is the most common unit seen on the battlefield.
• Assault Trooper - This includes the Clone Heavy Trooper (Republic), Assault Droid (CIS), Rebel Vangaurd (Rebellion), and Shock Trooper (Empire). Equipped with a rocket launcher, capable of vehicle lock-on when targeted, blaster pistol, mines, and thermal detonators. Used for demolition and sabotage.
• Sniper - This includes the Clone Sharpshooter (Republic), Assassin Droid (CIS), Rebel Marksman (Rebellion) and Scout Trooper (Empire). Equipped with a sniper rifle, blaster pistol, thermal detonators, and an automated blaster turret. Used for larger scale maps.
• Engineer - This includes the Clone Engineer (Republic), Engineer Droid (CIS), Rebel Smuggler (Rebellion), and Imperial Engineer (Empire). Equipped with a shotgun, fusion cutter, detpacks (remote explosives), and a health/ammo dispenser. Used for rebuilding and repairing vehicles and turrets and slicing into enemy vehicles, as well as supplying fellow teammates and destroying both structures and vehicles.

It's the Madden cycle of development. Break things one year to fix them the next and call them "features."
