All the Disney classics. Watership Down too, if that was before 1980 that is.

One that I never hear anyone talk about, would be Pinocchio in Outer Space. Good movie!

Besides the usual Disney movies and Charlotte's Web, I'd say Judy Garland's Gay Purr-ee

Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro by Hayao Miyazaki and TMS. That has to be the best pre-80s animated film of all time by a mile.

Besides those Disney titles already mentioned, Cricket on the Hearth is one I like.
Other Disney: Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians and Fantasia.

I haven't seen Gulliver's Travels in years.

Never got to see Fritz The Cat.

Most of Rankin/Bass' classics were pre-1980s. Also consider, if a film was released in 1980, that means the majority of its production took place most likely in 1978, or 1979.

The stop-motion "claymation" style Rankin/Bass films are still fun to watch.

Two of my favorites would be for their cel animated division:
The Hobbit
Return of the King

Both well-worth checking out for Lord of the Rings and Hobbit fans of animation.

Bakshi's The Lord of the Rings is a must see also, despite being incomplete and ending with a cliffhanger war instead of how the book ends. I think they ran out of funds and time. Bakshi then complained about Peter Jackson's live-action films for some reason, but then later apologized to Jackson many years later.
