Blu-ray Knight

Hey everyone!
So I've narrowed my selection for my first 4K player to be this Sony one. One of the main draws is that it has 2 HDMI outputs so I can run video straight to my TV and audio through my older (non 4K compatible) receiver. I currently have a regular 1080 region free blu ray player I use for imports. Considering 4K/UHD is all region free by default...I could just buy one of these off the shelf. Target has them on sale for $160 right now. However, it seems annoying and excessive to have two separate blu ray players. One for 4K and one for Region B discs. In an ideal world, I'd just get the region free version of the 4K player. The only downside...it's twice the cost. $299. Is the hassle of switching inputs anytime I want to watch an imported, standard blu ray worth the extra $150 it'd cost to not have to deal with it? I know this is a subjective question, and all comes down to personal preferences. Just curious to know what everyone in here thinks about it, and what you would do if you were faced with this dilemma. |
