4K restoration of the live action Robin Williams movie (1980) coming soon from Paramount Pictures

I presume that means an actual UHD

Dawn of The Discs swiping his "scoop" from MifuneFan once again! And the sky is blue.

And the ''scoop'' doesn't mean squat (nothing against MifuneFan, by the way, you never confirmed or said anything) but these people don't care, they just need the engagement for money.

Either way it's still a wishlist until announced. And let it be known I want this. I still haven't bought the Blu ray because importing is expensive, so.. if it releases this years.. means I won't have to double dip..

The biggest concern here is that someone who works at Paramount thinks that the restoration looks great.

Happens all the time. I can't say something has a new 4K restoration, or along those lines without these social media clowns turning it into a NEW ANNOUNCEMENT.

Hell, for all we know, that ''new restoration'' might be the Blu-ray one. Some executives can be that absolutely clueless. He didn't say '4K' restoration either.

I'd be surprised if Paramount put this out themselves. I've wanted to rewatch this for a while though, haven't seen it since i was a kid.

They did put out the movie themselves out on Blu-ray a couple years ago. Even made new featurettes for it, as well. Seems like it's gotten a cult status and must have made a profit for Paramount.

But we'll see how it goes.

Well, Kino Lorber did just mention that they picked up 2 more 1980s films for release (most of which are for a 4K release).

Just bought the BD a year ago and haven’t watched it.

Used to love this as a kid. No idea what I would think of it now ha.

Let’s see if this actually happens though.

Never could figure out the film when I was younger so might give it another look.

I read a great article about it a few weeks ago https://archive.org/details/American...ilm%201980-12/
