Talking Holiday / Christmas themed 3D Blu-rays

I started my 2015 holiday 3D Blu-ray viewings last night with....

3D- 4.5 out of 5
Audio- 5 out of 5

I thought the 3D was incredible and the 7.1 Audio was simply awesome.... My Theaters speakers were booming with amazing surround sound. The movie itself was great and my kids loved it. Next week we will be watching "Arthur Christmas".

Those two are pretty much the only sane ones to watch, right now--
The only other two are the bookending beginning and end of Robert Zemeckis's CGI career--Polar Express and A Christmas Carol--and they're both weird for the same reason.
Thankfully, he's worked past that stage now.

(There's also the very foreign "Little Brother, Big Trouble" on Netflix, but I've saved that one until the season officially begins. No hurry at all.)

Pretty weak 3D in both of these, but for the sake of completion:

The Nightmare Before Chirstmas
A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas

I'm throwing Hugo and Gatsby in the holiday mix. Just have that holiday feel to it.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows I and II as well as The Hobbit I watch over the holidays now.

Prometheus takes place during Christmas. It has some cheery holiday spirit, right?

Arrow 3D Christmas Movies

So what are the existing 3D Christmas movies? To qualify i would say that being set at or during the holiday season is a must, they don't have to gbe about Christmas.

Animation:
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Rise of the Guardians (i don't think this is actually set at Christmas but it does feature Santa Claus)
The Polar Express
A Christmas Carol
Arthur Christmas

Live Action:
Prometheus
Iron Man 3
Hugo
A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas

What have i missed? Am planning on doing a 3D Christmas marathon this year!

Ice Age A Mammoth 3D Christmas Special It's just a 25 minute short but rather enjoyable in my opinion

The Snow Queen: Die Schneekönigin (Germany/France)
Niko 2 (Germany)

Live Action w/ English Language Tracks:
The Nutcracker (UK) << terrible - LOL

Live Action w/ English Subtitles:
Magic Silver 2 / aka Blåfjell 2 - The Quest for the Magic Horn (Norway - there is also a German release, but it doesn't have English)

Polar Express, any thoughts on whether that's a good one to pick up these days?

That's a great one! In fact, that's the only 3D Christmas movie I own (I have Arthur Christmas in 2D).

Polar Express gets a strong recommendation from me

I sort of agree with the other fellas - the 3D is good and I'm very happy to have seen it - but IMO the character models are a bit creepy looking.

From Wikipedia's "Uncanny Valley" page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley

A number of films that use computer-generated imagery to show characters have been described by reviewers as giving a feeling of revulsion or "creepiness" as a result of the characters looking too realistic. Examples include:

Several reviewers of the 2004 animated film The Polar Express called its animation eerie. CNN.com reviewer Paul Clinton wrote, "Those human characters in the film come across as downright... well, creepy. So The Polar Express is at best disconcerting, and at worst, a wee bit horrifying."

The term "eerie" was used by reviewers Kurt Loder[35] and Manohla Dargis, among others. Newsday reviewer John Anderson called the film's characters "creepy" and "dead-eyed", and wrote that "The Polar Express is a zombie train."

Animation director Ward Jenkins wrote an online analysis describing how changes to the Polar Express characters' appearance, especially to their eyes and eyebrows, could have avoided what he considered a feeling of deadness in their faces.

I think Christmas Carol comes across a lot better, and for me at least, dodged the inadvertent creep-out factor.

Thanks for the additions! I have toyed with the idea of picking up The Nutracker, is it really that bad?

If you're curious to see how bad a conversion can be The Nutcracker will show you. Otherwise, give it a wide, wide berth.
