Lack of understanding a language kills a mediabook for me. I have a few but they are UK editions. I think the only exception for me is Dust Devil, and I would make an exception for Inferno since a UHD is a longshot.

Let's be honest, no one actually reads them anyway cause there's nothing particularly informative inside that's not already on Wikipedia or IMDb's trivia section.

It's all about the cover and that "unique packaging" feeling.

this! I have plenty of mediabooks but I've never read or opened any of them.

I just love the packaging style a whole lot more than steelbooks

German booklets by the likes of Tobias Hohmann or by Christoph Kellerbach are very informative and go way beyond Wikipedia et al.

But quite often these are just alibi booklets with no meaningful content and/or EPK photos.

I don't remember who said it, might have been you, how German distributors feel almost obligated at this point to make mediabooks because that's what sells there. Oftentimes they'll barely scrape together some basic production info and publicity stills just for the sake of having a mediabook release.

I do not. But that doesn't matter to me. If the movie in an English language film, I'm good to go.

Hell, I have some foreign language media books that aren't in English and don't have English subs either. I can't watch them. I just love the packaging.

Can confirm I have never read anything past a glance in any mediabook, and only a couple times have I ever read the entire mini book from a limited edition (Phantasm set comes to mind)
