Here's hoping they have 4 or 5 different locations/maps styled after the first few movies. Definitely a map with the original house, store, etc. Maybe a TCM 2 map that has the amusement park/dungeon like setting. They could possibly do a TCM 3 map with that location and the water location. There is an abundance of places they could use for unique maps, if they can clear up any potential licensing issues. I also hope to see the various Leatherface iterations like we did with Jason in the F13 series.

Is this another one of those games that are online only?

If so, it's skippable. Easily.

More info & new trailer:

Quote:
Next month, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will release, offering a new take on the asymmetrical multiplayer horror genre. Unlike Gun Media's Friday the 13th: The Game, the publisher's next game is 3v4, with four survivors being stalked by three killers. A new trailer for the game has now dropped, and it showcases just how brutal things will get when each killer manages to locate a survivor. Like the series itself, the trailer isn't for the squeamish, as we can see plenty of deaths as each killer catches up with their prey!

The new trailer for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre can be found embedded below.
https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/th...r-leatherface/

Game will be retailing for $40.

Yeah, as far as I know, this is online only. I believe they're targeting the Dead by Daylight audience, just like Evil Dead: The Game attempted to do. I know someone that played in the beta and they told me they saw a lot of potential in it, but well see when it comes out next month.

For the adaptation of the movie into The Texas Chain Saw Massacre game, musician Ross Tregenza had to find ways to honor the source material while also putting his own stamp on the experience to unnerve and frighten players. Waxwork Records has announced that The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Original Game Soundtrack by Ross Tregenza and Remains Additional Game Music by Wes Keltner and Jim Bonney are now available for purchase and are expected to ship on August 18th.

Damn, I thought from the title this would be a Ben Mankiewicz character action game.

They did a nice job capturing the first TCM film's style. Now they just need to offer an offline mode for these games, so they're not just temporary rental games 10 years from now and then the servers are gone and no game at all.

The game has been played by millions of people, partially thanks to it being available on Xbox Game Pass. If you're a fan of the franchise or are interested in seeing the original film for the first time, Xbox has a great deal. Anyone who has bought or played The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game is eligible to purchase a copy of the 40th anniversary edition of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre movie on the Xbox Store for just $5.

You'll be able to own the iconic film and also get an hour and a half of bonus features as well. It's a great deal and worth taking advantage of, especially if you got the game for free through Xbox Game Pass. To claim this deal, there's a tab on the store page for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game that will take you to the store page for the film where you can then purchase it for $5.

Basically, it's a Friday the 13th clone, but it looks a lot better. The game is true to the movie with a faithful adaptation of the Sawyer family inside of that house along with gory deaths and a terrifying soundtrack. Getting chased by Leatherface scared the ever loving sh** out of me!

I only read the "TCM The Game" part of the thread title and thought that someone had made a Tuner Classic Movies video game featuring Robert Osborne.
All I could think of was "Why are they doing this? There is already a game like this called 'The Movies' from Peter Molyneux".

I am one who actually prefers the 2003 remake to the original film. Fingers crossed, they can add DLC that includes attributes from the 2003 remake, including the updated Leatherface model and the R Lee Ermy "Sheriff" character! That would be awesome! I'd also love an additional map that is the house from the remake which was extremely creepy!

Dude, could you imagine a game like this in the Halloween universe! Being able to run around a fully realized Haddonfield?? You could have the Myers house, Laurie's house, the Doyle's, the school, the police station, the hardware store, the graveyard, the hospital! Damn that would be incredible! You could even have vehicles! The Sheriff's car, the Smith's Grove station wagon, etc. How fun would it be to be Ben Tramer, driving the world's most combustible van ever made while wearing the Faux Myers mask? LMAO!

Yeah a game like that would be awesome, maybe even a level in Santa Mira and Silver Shamrock factory. I hope we eventually get a Halloween video game but apparently they are coming out with board games based on Halloween 1 and 2.

Ah yes! Santa Mira would be a must! And of course have the 3 masks available to wear.

Saw (lol) this and figured I'd share. This edition is kinda expensive at 99.99, but looks to include a bunch of DLCs, a steelbook, and a 4k of the original film. Comes out Oct 25.
