Default Harmony 659 ?

I just bought a refurbished Harmony 659 on Amazon for $45.

Does anyone know if it will control a Onkyo 605, and a Directv HD DVR.

I would also like to use it with my PS3, but I know I will have to buy the remote with the USB adapter.

I am new to the forum but have been reading for a month or so. Reading this forum helped me choose a PS3 and the Onkyo 605.

The 659 is fully compatible with all of the devices you listed. Just use the PC setup software connected via the USB cable, and you'll be able to set up all your devices in a few minutes. It's easy.

It's what I use with my PS3.

I haven't used the nyco blu wave IR remote (for the IR sensor of the PS3) but lots of other have and it seems great and can be had easily from Gamestop.

I bought a 3rd party Ps2 remote with Ir receiver in Nov 06 so the nyco thing wasn't available yet.

Either way,.. works perfectly.

Thanks for the replys. I think I read on this forum that even with the IR adapter, it still doesn't power the PS3 on/off correct?

That's true for now.

I think someone made a custom IR adapter that does power on and off the ps3 but in my case it would make zero difference.

I tend to power up the ps3 but putting a movie in the slot and power it down right after I eject it. (the touch sensitive power button is right near the eject button anyway.) I'm not one to get so tired that I have to shut everything down with the remote right before passing out on the couch but I can understand that type of thing anyway.
