Onkyo 605 Silver?

They are the same. Only cosmetic differences. In most circumstances, Onkyo's silver versions are more expensive than the black. But every now and then, you get score a great deal on a silver. I prefer them... I think silver = sexy.

In my experience I always found the silver units cheaper and more available, but again that's just my experience.

They're the same, just depends on what you want in your livingroom.

i own the silver it is very pleasing but if you dont want something to stand out in your setup you might not want it because the silver is veryyyy noticable

My DVR is silver, and so is my dvd player and karaoke machine ( ) so I got the silver 805. Now the PS3 stands out for being piano black

but that would be a good thing right?? im gonna be building a new stand soon like a floating kinda thing and im gonna have the ps3 front and centerstanding up so it is right under the tv

Thanks guys. One more thing.

I have a HDMI version 1.2 right now from my PS3 to my tv. Should I buy 2 new HDMI 1.3's or just 1? If just one, should I use the 1.3 from the PS3 to the 605 and the 1.2 to the tv...My tv does not support 1.3.

yes u might as well get the 1.3 or theres no need for the onkyo cus you wouldnt be using it to its capability monoprice.com hdmi 1.3 for like 5 bucks works fine i use them and the rate on the onkyo is the same as the ps3 is putting out so dont buy into the monster cable gimmick and yes your tv will be fine on the 1.2 no need to spend more money save it for some speakers or some bds

Get a 1.3 receiver. (There's no diff. in cables.) I bought an Onkyo 804 (silver!) shortly before the 805's came out that had HDMI 1.3, and I regret it now.
