Finally!

If memory serves, the series was left on a shitty cliffhanger:

[Show spoiler]its been a while since ive seen it, but didnt the series end with Jack being taken into custody by the chinese or the Russians and that was the end of the series?!

Really looking forward to this, hopefully it comes to be!

I loved 24. But to be fair, the Jack Bauer methods were always cringed.

"Where is the bomb?!!!"

Shoots the guy in front of colleagues.

"Where is the bomb?!!!"

Yeah...I can see why a modern depiction would be different.

The limited series ended the series on a much more satisfactory note than the original series had ended, so I'm glad they had that run they had...plus, since it wasn't 24 total episodes, they were able to move around the day more, freeing them up creatively imo. While I did like the idea of each episode in a season being 1 hour of a day, it eventually became its downfall imo. Shifting to a 10-12/13 episode season, you can still have it be taking place in 1 day, but you're now able to move around and have less filler.

I had to look it up, but the episode recap from Wikipedia for the final episode of the limited series 24: Live Another Day, which was the last season of 24 with Kiefer before the really horrible spin off 24: Legacy says this:

[Show spoiler]
Quote:
Twelve hours later, Jack gives himself up to Russian operatives, who free O'Brian in exchange for him.
So he is not free, he is in the hands of the Russians

Only in if it's in real time & lasts 24 hours.

Awesome, hopefully to end it once and for all. No passing the torch BS either. Didn't like the other show.

That didn’t happen in Live Another Day, though. The time jump happened in the last 10 minutes of the finale.

They were never able to fill out a full 24 episodes, so there were always stupid subplots that had nothing to do with the crisis (Kim and the cougar, McGill and his drug addict sister, almost everyone on the White House side of the show), random snipers, moles and additional bad guys behind the bad guys.

In a post-Walter-White world, what makes anyone think Jack Bauer can reclaim "TV's Biggest Badass" these days?

Just for the heck of it, I'm gonna make a prediction: this will get released all right, but it'll never see the inside of a movie theater.

As much as I love this series there is only 1 way to do this.

1. Tony Almeda needs to be the main character in a mission to find and bring Jack back.
2. No Chloe as the IT person no sale!
3. Dont even show Jack until the final shot with him getting rescued.

^ Yeah I'd be happy with a Tony & Chloe rescue mission too. I'd rather see Jack go ballistic with various firearms in the escape though.

If you don't bring back Jack, Tony and Chloe than what is the point of this?

Somebody needs to save Jack from the Russians.

I’ve been debating giving this show a shot. I tried the first season years ago but wasn’t hooked enough to continue with season two. Now that I have considerably more free time is it worth giving the show another shot if I thought season one is a solid B?

Absolutely. Plenty of it might be a tad dated now (the show still feels fairly new to me, so the idea of bits being dated is horrible), and some of the subplots can get a bit silly or feel like unnecessary filler, but there’s plenty of gold in there. For a time it set the standard for action tv, and some of those cliffhangers

The first few seasons are brilliant.
