Default Lets hope Toshiba pulls the plug on HD DVD

If this happens, and it is VERY like it will, then both Universal and Paramount would be released from their contracts with HDDVD. At this point you have to figure both companies are hoping for a Toshiba exit as well. We could hear something on this real soon!

I just want to hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak. I want Serenity on Blu-ray so bad that the wait is killing me.

Yeah me too. Bluboy please tell me where you read that Universal and Paramount are already released from their contracts? Until Toshiba makes an announcement they are still married to HDDVD.

"Let's hope Toshiba pulls the plug on HD-DVD"???

Sorry, not to be rude, but did I just enter a time-warp?

what do you mean? At this point you can only hope. NOTHING has been announced or confirmed yet. So please do not put the cart before the horse, "so to speak."

This is just a sampling:

As to waiting for confirmation? Here's my reply to that:

HD-DVD is the parrot; the shop keeper is waiting for an official statement I guess.

Salinger did you read any of those links? Not one of them said Toshiba has officially announced their withdraw from HDDVD. Its all speculation at this point. Currently Toshiba is reviewing its strategy in the High Def market. I'm all for the end of HDDVD, but it seems to me everyone on here is getting ahead of themselves. Its certainly going to happen. But it hasn't happened yet. So like I said, Lets HOPE Toshiba pulls the plug on HD DVD.

Yeah, it's all still speculation and rumours. Just because we all want it, and many people believe it, doesn't make it true

Yes, read everyone of them. Did you read Toshiba's official response to these stories that began days ago? Of course not, because they've been completely silent. Speaks volumes, far more than any denial could.

I've also been around long enough to know that when multiple trusted news sources get a "leaked" report from an insider, there's no more hoping to be done. That leak and the subsequent deathly silence from Toshiba are as official as any rational thinking person needs.

I understand what you're saying about awaiting an official announcement, but if I see a decapitated body with 37 bullet holes through the chest bobbing down the river, I don't need a coroner's report to tell me it's dead.
