The Sony insider said that they need to do a tremendous work on Ghostbuster for it to be worthy. Probably involving a complete new rescan and cleanup

The DVD already look very subpar for Catalog.. so i'am glad to ear that Sony is going to do whatever they can ...

I think they'll do like 5th Element, using the last scanner and cleanup tool. If you check the old and new 5th element (New master only available on Blu-ray) you'll see what proper scanning can do..

I bought a used copy for 3 dollars and I didn't think it was worth it. It is truly one of the worst DVD transfers I have ever seen and that includes giving it points for it being the first time I had seen the non-P&S version.

Ghostbusters deserves a quality transfer. It's a classic and I would buy it on blu in a heartbeat. Let's hope that it does see store shelves this year.

Well the master seemed kinda in bad shape when the Insider (lost his name) said that earlier last year. So if the master is crappy, they gonna do the best to restored it i guess.

Did you buy the Green Box? i know Sony redid it with the GreenSlime box on DVD, never bougt it tought..

I totally agree.

I would also like to see the original 3 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles , even though most said they dislike the 3rd, I thought it was kinda funny and would immediately buy all 3.
