I figured that I might as well start buying the seasons from iTunes so that I can archive them to disc. After purchasing, I realized that they're not the uncensored versions that are on the DVD's.
How screwed can we be by this show? They refuse to release it on disc and the digital HD versions are all censored. |

Fox is just not that interested in their shows being on Blu-ray especially the Animated ones. Though the Family Guy Star Wars specials did make it to Blu-ray. But no clue as to why the uncensored episodes are DVD-only. I only have interest in physical releases, so don't know too much about downloading shows and movies on where the best place to get them will be, etc.

Like South Park, I think Family Guy is funnier with the bleeps. It draws attention to the fact they're saying something uncouth.

The uncensored Family Guys weren't just swears, various episodes ran several mins longer than their broadcasts and certain ones restored content (like a few additional Adam West scenes) that ultimately got trimmed for time and/or broadcast content regulations.
I believe one example is the uncensored "Family Gay" ep on DVD, which had additional and alternate scenes featuring graphic sexual content and nudity not seen on the already controversial broadcasts. The "HD" version that made the rounds at places like Hulu and FX was a weird hybrid edit that further trimmed down certain sections and almost all nudity from the broadcast ver, but had mostly uncensored dialog and some of the extra DVD ver. scenes. |

I'm weary to censorship. The B tone (1000 hz) hurt my ears (however, bowdlerized/santized/shortened versions may be used for comparison purposes and not as a main feature) As per my instructions. Last edited by SwatDB; 09-05-2024 at 05:53 AM. |

I also like the bleeps in earlier South Park and that's what I grew up on. Need to get around to watching more FG. It's a show I'm more familiar with highlight clips than full episodes, but that goes for a lot of stuff. TV shows are just so time consuming and I'd like to be less sedentary.
