Default Heels (Starz)

Quote:
"Heels" is a story about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small town pro wrestling. Set in a close-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals war over their late father's legacy. In the ring, somebody must play the good guy and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel. But in the real world, those characters can be hard to live up to - or hard to leave behind.

With a title like Heels, I was truly hoping this show would be about something sexy. Damn.

Last night’s episode was brutal. I’m cringing again even thinking about that scene. I really hope it gets picked up. Only 3 episodes left this season.

I'm sure there's plenty of people who think Amell and Ludwig fall under the "something sexy" title lol

Is the show any good? It looked fine with the trailer but didn't really grab me enough to check it out, I didn't even know it had started.

I know right. I had my hand over my mouth gasping.

This show is really good! Keeps getting better each ep. Prob my new favorite show so far this season (not that I've watched a lot of other new ones).

Just watched this weeks episode last night and was thinking the same thing as yanksno1 - its been good from the start and only gets better with each episode. One of the best shows of the year so far. Even my wife, who has no interest in wrestling, is enjoying it

I'm
[Show spoiler]not paying for
Starz right now, just saying. For S2, I might wait till the entire season is released then pay for a month on it to support it. Other way might be to just buy the season digitally (which I might to do anyway to support this season). It's that good (so far), so it's worth it to blind buy in my opinion.

What a waste that this is hiding on Starz and generating almost no heat.

Can you imagine if this was on Netflix/Hulu/HBO Max? I sure hope this is getting watched on the apps since the reported ratings are abysmal even for Starz. The 3-episode giveaway must mean that they know what they've got.

I would love to know from Amell what it is like going from drivel like "Arrow" to this. This has to be one of the best shows I've seen. The writing is phenomenal, the performances are perfect across the board, the score hits all the right "Friday Night Lights" notes, the characters are fantastic...

Normally, I am all for short seasons. The shorter the better. But, when I found out there were only 8 episodes, I was crushed. Only 2 more to go? Ugh.

Those first 3 eps are anywhere that carries Starz - the Starz app, the Amazon app.... I can't imagine anyone watching those 3 free eps and not needing to watch the rest. Starz is $4.49 a month on Amazon right now (not sure what it is elsewhere), so for $4.49 anyone can watch the entire series (6 eps have aired, 2 to go) and then cancel.

It's $3 for 3 months on starz.com / app

Wow! The last 2 ep's have been awesome! The couple before that were just so so, the only ones in the season so far. I know I've seen Chris Bauer in a million things, but only learned his name till now. He should win an Emmy for his performance haha (not that I watch award shows anymore since they're all politics).

My f-ing wife loves this f-ing show. While it doesn't f-ing interest me, I'm f-ing glad everyone seems to f-ing love it. She was f-ing watching it last weekend while I cleaned the f-ing kitchen, and I f-ing noticed they say "f***" a lot on this f-ing show. Actually, a lot of the f-ing shows on premium networks f-ing do that. I'm not f-ing offended by foul language, but it f-ing seems like f-ing overkill. Just because you can f-ing use that word doesn't mean you f-ing should all the f-ing time.

The show’s not any more foul (or less) than any other show on cable television, stop exaggerating.

Doesn't mean they should all be dropping F bombs like it's WWIII all the time lol That's actually a big problem with premium cable and streaming shows, they have no boundaries so they go overboard and do it just because they can and it can come off juvenile.

It feels appropriate for this show. The only show I would really agree with your statement on is Titans, because the constant cursing is so out of place and ridiculous.
