Default Your Top Ten Games of All Time

Please post your own lists (I don't mind if a couple of modern games sneak in )

My top ten (as of today anyway) is:
  1. Silent Hill 2
  2. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
  3. Resident Evil Remake
  4. Shenmue
  5. Super Castlevania IV
  6. Resident Evil: Code Veronica
  7. Super Mario World
  8. Super Mario Galaxy
  9. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
  10. The Last of Us

Honourable mentions to: Castlevania: New Generation, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, Hitman: Blood Money, Super Mario Bros., Gone Home.

I think my top 6 is unlikely to ever change. Silent Hill 2 remains my favourite of all time for so many reasons.

Well, from the last thread, I'll list the games only. Think the list might have changed a bit since last time. I think the list is a bit off nowadays. Currently, I think ALTTP is bit better than OOT. Could be due to my play through of ALBW. If it changes, I'll update it. But without a doubt, Chrono Trigger [SNES] is my favorite game of all time.

10) Boom [Mac]
09) Super Mario Galaxy [Wii]
08) Metal Gear Solid [PS1]
07) Final Fantasy VII [PS1]
06) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night [PS1]
05) Grand Theft Auto: Vice City [PS2]
04) Super Mario Bros. 3 [NES]
03) The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past [SNES]
02) The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time [N64]
01) Chrono Trigger [SNES]

Apologies Derb, just didn't notice one in this section of the site.

I have very fond memories of that game and like you, it introduced me to the world of survival horror. I rented it from my local video store called Apollo (we didn't have a Blockbuster) and I was just blown away by the game. I didn't manage to complete it in the three days of rental time (I think I kept it out for six days in the end), but my mum bought it for me for my birthday back in 1996. I love horror films and having spent years playing on my SNES, this game seemed so advanced, adult and moody. It was like playing your own B-movie. I remember the spiders in the Guardhouse the most! I do think Resident Evil Remake is one of the best remakes EVER full stop.

Great list. I have Chrono Trigger for my Nintendo DS and I need to complete it! What did you think of the PSX sequel?

I can't believe I missed off Grand Theft Auto: Vice City! I love that game because I'm an 80s child at heart and love the music and setting. I've completed that game probably more than most, even on mobile. I'm amending my list in my first post!
