Default Went to the Disney Magical Blu-ray tour

So I went to the Disney/Panasonic Bluray tour yesturday in Farmington Ct. and was actually suprised by a couple of things. First off, being Disney there were a lot of couples with their kids there. The kids would watch the previews and yell "NEMO" and such as the Parents were getting the info on BD. I could see how they lured the kids in to get to the parents interested, very smart. The actual Disney/Panasonic personel were very aware of the latest Toshiba news and were passing it on to the local hired help and told them they were probibly going to be questioned about it. I watched the little demo and listened to the lady speak of the advantages bluray has over dvd.
They had 6 speakers set up as well as 2 subs, the only problem was the music in the mall was loud also.

The TV's they used were 50" panasonic LCD's and the DMP-BD30K were the players. I compared the picture to my 56" Samsung DLP and was happy that my picture was just as sharp as theirs. I was like "yeah, this is what I see at home", then you would hear someone say "Look how CLEAR that picture is!!"
and realize that not everyone has seen Bluray and that perhaps i'm now taking it for granted.

It was worth going to see, plus it was less than 2 miles from home. The Truck box, the trailer from an 18 wheeler, that they haul the stuff in was sitting outside and was impressive as well with the bluray logo and pictures, wish I had brought my camera.

I plan on going to the tour when it comes to Nashville. Should be fun. Did you win anything? I keep reading about all this free swag being given away.

Interesting. Didn't realize that they were in Farmington. Too bad that's too long of a haul for me. Too bad they couldn't come down to Danbury or at least Waterbury.

Stand correct. They use 50" Plasma not LCD. LCD never has 50' nor Panny ever make one.

I entered into a drawing for tv's, bd players, discs, etc. Not much as far as giveaways, a booklet with a $5 dollor off two BD or $10 off 3 BD coupon to F.Y.E. in the mall. (Though FYE prices are usually high).

The Hosts were pretty busy answering questions, they asked which player I had, how many movies, etc.

A couple of them started playing games like liars dice from POTC, and something else, I don't know if it was from Ratatouille, Cars,? and of course all the kids then wanted to join in.

But really it was all Panasonic products and Disney previews. I went on the last day it was there, so if there was giveaways, they may have been out.

Whatever it said 50" LCD on the display. So I guess you will have to contact them to correct them.

That would be uneventful, but strangely gratifying, for me to go to a Blu-Ray promotional event to see that they were playing the disc on the exact same system that's in my den!!!
