Luckily I still haven’t watched any of my Studio Canal releases that are being released by Criterion so I can sell them all as sealed/brand new on eBay and get the Criterion instead.

Is Criterion's transfer, which is from a director-approved 4K restoration, different from the SC one? I recall the 4K looking a little different. If they are different, I wonder if Criterion will use that one, or the same one as used for the SC releases?

I imagine it'll be the same as the StudioCanal UHD albeit with a different encode. The listing on Criterion's site seems to be for the older Blu-ray/DVD instead of a UHD so I wouldn't put much stock in the "approved by director Nicolas Roeg part" although I believe some new UHD presentations are considered director approved because it's a HDR pass that doesn't deviate too much from the approved SDR master despite the director not seeing the end product in 4K/HDR.

Yeah, they haven't updated the details yet. Do you know if the screenshots above are more or less the same as what the 4K transfer looks like?

I can't speak for other members, but that's definitely not my motivation, and has never been. I'm very active in the community, and I just like to create good clean threads for films, with nicely organized info and cover art. I also update the posts regularly if any new info is added/posted.

The screenshots are probably of what was used for Criterion's older Blu-ray. It and the UHD look pretty similar anyway when it comes to general appearance.

They were just added. I checked an archived page and there was only one old screenshot before today.
