I remember reading that Christiane Kubrick said Stanley was disturbed and depressed due to his research on the subject back when he attempted to film Begley's book. I hope Guadagnino won't tone anything down.

Luca's been broadening his sensibilities woth the last few films, so i imagine that he finds himself mature enough to tackle something such as this.
