Based on the that art it looks like Day of the Daleks and The Sea Devils will both be getting two discs. Being that there’s only 5 stories for this Season I’m assuming that there’s a Bonus disc as well.

They could, perhaps, have recreated or found the Omnibus version of the Sea Devils was was transmitted after Christmas 1972. That could go on disc 2.

I'll jump on the pre-order as soon as HMV lists it.

That'll now be every Roger Delgado Master story on Blu-Ray once this comes out.

Wouldn't that kind of thing be done with seamless branching?

Other omnibuses have been released in the collections on separate discs. Seamless branching is only really used for the new VFX.

I hope Amazon will allow me to pre-order this one from the US. Last one I was able to pre-order with no issues, but several of the other previous releases wouldn't allow me to pre-order. Makes it really hairy when Deff is no longer an option for the US and HMV isn't ether. Diabolik doesn't seem to list these either anymore.

From the pics it looks like it's 2 discs each for Day of the Daleks, The Sea Devils and The Time Monster, with Curse of Peladon and The Mutants being one disc each.

Atmos? That's... Not something I expected, nice!

And Amazon being difficult again with pre-orders to the EU, it's strange they keep flip flopping between making these sets available straight away and having to wait until closer to launch.

Does anyone outside the UK can pre-order this from amazon uk? Its says "This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location." Never had a problem with those sets. If you can please tell where you are from. So far its a no to Greece.

Great. Now that the Amazon link is active I get this:

"This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location."

Another case of US not being allowed to pre-order. Now what? Is this going to be the first set I miss out on? Deff is out since they no longer ship to the US and Amazon is out unless stock is still available once it's released since they won't let me pre-order. I tried using a fake UK address during the pandemic just to get a pre-order in for a previous set but even just days before shipping I was unable to switch to my real US address, so I had to cancel and buy from Deff. But now they're out too.

Seriously annoying and stressful. I pre-ordered the last set with no issues. Now this set it's back to no pre-orders for the US. What a bunch of screwballs at Amazon. Do they even have any actual policies or do they make this stuff up day-by-day?

Not allowed to the US for now -- it seems that's happened occasionally with some new listing though it does seem these DW sets are usually allowed from the beginning.

I'll give it a week or so and hope this is just a 1st day glitch. Occasionally US Amazon Global will have these sets, if not I'll end end with rarewaves or Zavvi.

Out of the last 5 or so sets I've been able to pre-order only 1 to the US from Amazon, and that was the last set that came out recently. All the other sets since 2020 they've cut off pre-ordering to the US.

I talked to customer support. They didnt even know that the release date is wrong and will forward my complaint.

The Time Monster also has a second disc.

The restoration technique originally used on the Inferno SE and then for Colony in Space and The Claws of Axos for the Season 8 set has the disadvantage of losing a slight amount of picture around the edges. For this reason, they include the original restorations in SD as an alternative.

It will probably be something like:
Disc 1: Day of the Daleks
Disc 2: Day of the Daleks DVD Special Edition + Omnibus Edition
Disc 3: The Curse of Peladon + Episode 1-4 SD 2010 Version
Disc 4: The Sea Devils + Episode 1-3 SD 2008 Version
Disc 5: The Sea Devils Omnibus Edition
Disc 6: The Mutants + Episode 1-2 SD 2011 Version
Disc 7: The Time Monster
Disc 8: The Time Monster Episode 1-6 SD 2010 Version

No worries about not being able to get the item shipped to the US, it's also not available to the EU atm. But last time they made them available a few weeks before launch and these haven't sold out before launch for a couple of sets now.
