Default When will Toshiba make "the announcement"?

Let's bet on when they'll announce that they're shutting it down. I'd say tomorrow.

The winners will all receive a completely free pat on the back.

There is a Toshiba board meeting on Tuesday to make a 'decision'. More likely it's about what to say and when to say it. I suspect the decision has already been made.

Depending on how Toshiba want to involve Universal & Paramount the most likely day for the official statement is Wednesday. That way Toshiba can step aside and allows the red studios the rest of the week to announce their Blu-ray plans.

It's inconceivable that Dumb & Dumber could be so phenomenally moronic to allow the only manufacturer of HD DVD hardware to pull out of HD DVD yet these two clowns continue to support it exclusively.

On the other hand....

I'm going with Friday for Toshiba. Paramount & Universal on either Wednesday or Thursday(with Toshiba's approval of course).

I'm hoping for it to be tomorrow, but I doubt it. I picked by the end of the week.

There needs to be an "end of the week" option. They will probably announce Friday if they do this week....

If Toshiba had any class or intelligence, they would have ended this after CES. I personally hope their "announcement" is that they are going ahead with TL-51. Toshiba deserves to suffer more.

Friday is my vote. Everytime bad news is dropped, do it before the weekend so people don't go immediately postal.

My vote is subject to change based on when Ken Graffeo begins filing for social assistance.
