Quote:
Daughters of Darkness

Newlyweds Stefan and Valerie are travelling through Europe when they make a detour to a deserted seaside hotel. Their romantic idyll soon takes a dark turn when they meet the enigmatic countess Báthory (Delphine Seyrig, Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles) and her mysterious companion Ilona, whose unsettling charm and aristocratic poise mask a deadly intent. A Euro-horror classic, Daughters of Darkness is an opulent fever dream, weaving a Sapphic subtext and feminist undercurrent beneath its baroque surface. Thematically rich. Harry Kümel’s vampire tale transcends convention and is presented in a stunning 4K restoration for the first time in the UK.

This looks pretty awesome. I have the Blue Underground disc but those new extras are tempting.

It's an absolute favourite of mine but I don't like the new artwork. It doesn't convey the loneliness and melancholy of the movie proper.

It's a pretty amazing film.

I won't be upgrading as I'm happy with the BU edition, but I'd highly recommend it to the curious.

Oh man. After the Palindromes kerfuffle, I will probably wait for reviews but this looks like a solid package vs BU's release. I love that Radiance is embracing UHD. My favorite label in the business right now.

This used to show up at silly 'o' clock all the time on Channel 4, back when I was in my mid-teens and had a little TV in my room. I remember watching it a couple of times and not having a clue what was going on, but being slightly aroused.

If that's TMI, I apologise.

Does Fidelity In Motion do all of Radiance releases?

If they are doing the 4K, it could best the BU

Looks like the cert was lowered to 15 as well. Not updated on the BBFC site yet.

Delphine Seyrig is pretty iconic in this. I don't think that artwork looks like her. Looks more like Kylie Minogue to me.

I’ve only seen it once and don’t recall too much. Other than Ms Seyrig, who i found prety hypnotic tbh.

And yeh, that cover pic doesn’t look anything (well not much anyway) like her lol.

It's got a John Karlen fresh out of Dark Shadows too. Showing far more flesh than he did there.

Happy with the current 4K. Don't watch it often enough to justify getting again. Good film though.

Yes, but this transfer is sourced from BU, so it will have to be all on the encoding/authoring, etc.

Can’t wait to put the Kylie version on the shelf next to my BU Taylor Swift version.

The film that inspired Tony Scott's The Hunger. I've seen Daughters... once but never owned it, until now. This release looks stellar, and from Radiance, to boot - my favorite boutique label.

This and The Camomile Lawn proudly sat together on my video shelf with no labels and nobody noticed.

The red triangle warning system was awesome.

For both this and IN MY SKIN, Radiance are licensing the exact masters from Blue Underground and Severin respectively, so there won't be any of those, "oh wait, this is actually SDR, sorry!" issues. If anything, Radiance will best BU and Severin due to the Fidelity in Motion encoding.

Looks awesome. But will this have the trailers, radio spots and photo gallery that Blue Underground has? THOSE are the extras that are important to much just as much as beautiful artworks.

Are there any issues at all with Blue Underground’s UHD? Like its encode? I remember when it was released it was touted by at least one person as being essentially a reference quality disc.
