Ps3 & Wmv - Blu-ray Forum

I was trying to use my PS3 to play some WMV files. I have 2.10 edition and it tells me that the file type isnt supported. Do I have to turn something on? I am useing windows media on my computer, and I am accessing it as a server everything but WMV's work what should I do?

Have you enabled it under the settings column on the XMB ?

The only thing it allows me to enable is WMA files not WMV files and yes I have enabled those

perhaps after the demise of hd dvd we may see ps3 get decoding abilities for wmv.

i think only wmv (vc-1) is supported.
