Default Marvel Vision Show 2026

Quote:
Marvel has tapped “Star Trek: Picard” executive producer Terry Matalas to resurrect Vision, the synthezoid played by Paul Bettany, for a new, untitled Disney+ series set for 2026, Variety has learned exclusively. Bettany will return to the role and Matalas will serve as showrunner.

They're putting way too much MCU out in the world. I used to watch everything, now I can't keep up. It'll just get easier and easier for me to skip the projects I'm not that interested in. I'm sure others feel the same, and this overabundance of projects will result in less profits.

I haven't seen WandaVision, but Vision himself has been one of my fave side characters in the MCU. I really enjoyed his and Wanda's chemistry in Captain America: Civil War.

At some point, can Bettany and Crowe take their Marvel megabucks and create the sequel to Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World that the world needs? 20 year anniversary of that flick, the jewel of each's filmography, will be 2023.

At the very least, I hope the guy buys himself something nice with the money he gets for this humiliation, just as I hope Tim Roth got paid enough for She-Hulk to make up for the hit to his pride. Like Roth, if Bettany phones in his performance in this, he'll still be the best actor in the whole shebang.

I'm not sure how this will work, as Wanda has now gone for an entire film without considering Vision at all, it's as though he was written out of the MCU. Supposedly, Wanda is gone for good (if only), but it'll be mighty weird to have Vision back when he's been completely absent for so many years.

I'm sure Bettany & Roth both cry themselves to sleep on a bed of MCU "**** you money"...

I hope so, just as Michael Caine famously said that he hadn't seen the notorious Jaws IV, but he has seen the house that it bought him.

Unlike other MCU actors, or Martin Scorsese & JCam, I haven't heard these guys decry the sorry state of modern Hollywood productions. However, you can see Tim Roth dying on the inside during She Hulk, understandable as that show made his Lie to Me show look like top tier television. Ideally this would be akin to the Star Trek TNG situation where the veteran actor caused the rest of the cast to up their game, but the evidence suggests that ain't in the cards nowadays.

Musicians make supergroups for creative (and financial) outlets, maybe these old guard actors can do something similar when they're not hammering out D+ performances?

Realistically, being in these D+ type streaming shows is at par with those self-deprecating direct-to-video films that Mad Mel Gibson has been sentenced to. Mel seems to keep himself going by doing Passion projects on the side, it's something that Bettany, Roth, Crowe and the rest of that last generation of Hollywood could give a thought to.

Don't remember the end of WandaVision. Did Marshmallow Vision end up with Vision Prime's consciousness and memories intact or no?

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I thought he did. But I guess not if they're planning to do this.

Yes. The story is about the conflicting programming and personalities.

Im excited for this.

Im WONDERing if this is before or after Wonder Man.

And Witch Wanda is going to be in this?
Will she be in flashbacks from his "memory bank"?
An alternative multiverse Wanda?

I hope its not WandaVision part two. Vision has his own personal arcs.
Shit...at one time he "flipped" out like Wanda, and took over every computer on the planet.

That was my exact thoughts as I read the news, as well - ugh, I so like him, and damn, this means no more Trek from him, at least for now.

bumping this thread since it's hard to find.

Kevin Feige is excited to work with Picard showrunner

Quote:
Talking to Inverse, Kevin Feige confirmed reports that Star Trek: Picard season 3's Terry Matalas has indeed been tapped as the Disney+ series' showrunner.

"That’s how I got to know him," the Marvel Studios boss started. "It was from his amazing [work on Picard Season 3. I said: This is incredible. I don't know how this exists. Let me find the person who made this."
