For about of left field 4k upgrade of a Harlin - Davis movie, damn shame it isn't The Long Kiss Goodnight! But I'll buy it.

This was in the Studio Canal sizzle reel for 2023 so I'd imagine it's going to show up elsewhere...SANTA CLAUS THE MOVIE was also in it so I'd expect that will pop up later in the year.

This movie needed a 4K BADLY, so it'll be a major upgrade, even if we'll have to endure the automatic colour grading of StudioCanal with yellow piss and icky green.

I enjoy this movie. Action and fun. I'm in for a 4K version.

I hope the grading is more like the vivid German BD and less like the drab Lionsgate BD.

Kinda looks like someone cranked the saturation (and sharpness) to 11 on the German disc.

Yeah, it's not a great disc by any means, but it does show up how drab the Lionsgate looks. The film is a bright, colourful adventure. You wouldn't know it from the LG caps.

I dunno how this movie looked theatrically, so I'm only speaking on what looks appealing to me but the colors on the LG disc appear more natural and balanced.

Yeah, it's supposed to look like a horribly oversaturated (and occasionally magenta tinted) VHS-era master.

Definitely.

Movies really used to look like something before the tragic arrival of HD and 4K remasters.

Yeah sure, miss the point by a mile.

The disc is not good at all, it has all sorts of problems and is incredibly dated BUT the more colorful look of the film opposed to the blue leaning drab one is something I associate this film a lot more so I would prefer it to lean towards the German one for sure but obviously in a lot more natural state.
