Nice! Glad I didn't buy the blu-ray.

Too bad they didn't use the entire cover art, for the actual movie...

Don't worry, they will. That's the same Bava-themed partial slipcover with the montage of pictures on the left side they have used for their previous, very sturdy, DVD-sized Digipak editions (under their old Koch Media name) of Bava's Lisa and the Devil, Baron Blood, Black Sabbath, Black Sunday, Hercules in the Haunted World and Kill, Baby Kill. They all have beautiful, full-sized artwork underneath the partial slips. The ratings logo is a removable sticker. Some of those were later rereleased as Mediabook editions with the same artwork but without the slips, so if you look those up on this here site, you should get an idea of what they look like.

2 pics of the Digipak for Black Sunday on Amazon customer reviews (scroll down a bit):

The Tim Lucas commentary is listed in the extras here, too.

Tried to place an order with PayPal checkout got an error screen that I put through a screenshot translator and said that shipments to my location is not possible (USA)
Item is listed as shop exclusive so hopefully Diabolik or grindhouse gets some or it’s hoping for eBay

Chris
I misread the page, saw “mehr von Mario Bava” and didn’t realise it was linking to the other Bava releases, but meant it had trailers for his other films. The Extras section is a bit hidden away as a drop down. So I assume the Stefan Jung/Pelle Felsch commentary, Planet Bava and Lamberto Bava interview are unique to this release? The Super 8 version was on the French Blu-ray.

I was considering getting their Blu-ray of Hercules in the Haunted World (Vampire gegen Herakles), think Arrow released most of the others.

Damn, no English subs for the Italian Audio. The English track sucks so the wait for the ideal release for me continues...

They don't ship to the UK, either. It's strange, because I've ordered stuff from their former website when they were trading as Koch Media. I guess it's too much hassle for them with the headache of IOSS fees and higher shipping costs.

I hope this is successful and "Black Sabbath", "Kill Baby... Kill!" and the other follow on 4k UHD.

Too bad no English subs for the Italian track.

When will this movie actually get a proper English friendly release for the superior Italian audio! It's like Danger Diabolik, same problem.

yes, its a big letdown not having eng subs for the Italian version, but my Italian is decent enough and this is such an attractive proposition, and with a great price.

It warms my heart that finally people and boutiques are starting to catch up with the fact that historically Italian cinema is amongst the 3 best in the world, and personally I think only classic Hollywood can compete with it. the variety and array of genres and subgenres italians did during the 60 and 70s is unrivaled IMO

This just was delivered a day early - was in transit to Switzerland for only 3 days. Exactly the same design as their previous Bava Collection Digipaks, lovely. It's my day off, so I will pop this beauty in later. Was carefully packaged in a box with plenty of padding. too.
Sorry, am not set up for posting pics.

It comes with both DV and HDR-10. I just checked the disc myself.

In response to the question, “Are both versions English friendly?”, Plaion answered, “yes they are! ”. Can anyone who’s received this already evaluate that claim? The lack of English subtitles suggests it’s false.

If you licence a movie in Germany, you are only allowed to sell it in Germany, BUT EU-laws allow everyone to sell their goods in other European countries too, that's why the shop sells to France, Italy and so on. So the switch from the shop-site to not send stuff to UK was not the name change but the Brexit.

Both versions have English audio. And I think I saw English subtitles in a missing scene, but I would need to check that again, I just did a quick check yesterday.
Also the Export-version includes 2 English tracks with different music included.
