£7 pre-order, you’ll be lucky if it comes in a case….

Can't say no at that price, but it'a a shame a boutique label isn't giving this the bells-and-whistles treatment. This trashterpiece deserves better.

If only a label would release the sequels Raging Thunder and Blood Brothers!

Wouldn't be surprised if it's the same international cut with all of the print damage/dirt/debris that's been around since the Australian Umbrella blu. Unless this has finally been restored (doubtful), it'll be hard to top the Kino release.

And yeah, the lack of NRNS2/Raging Thunder and NRNS3/Blood Brothers on the format is getting a bit annoying, lol.

Wondering if this is the movie that Irongod referred to a couple of weeks ago when he said he's working on a martial arts movie for a label that isn't 88, Arrow or Eureka.

Never ordered the Kino version, pre ordered this (importing is so bloody expensive and certain titles have to go by the wayside in favour of others!) so this will be worth a punt at £7.00 even if it’s just the international cut to go into my JCVD collection (Have bought a few of his films lately from 88 films and Wake of Death also from Kaleidoscope) With any luck NRNS will have some special features and have at least as good a picture quality as the Kino blu-ray. Can’t see it being restored or remastered for £7.00. But it is an extremely good price even if it was just the film.

There's a pretty good German release. It's the uncut version.

From what I've read, the R-rated cut was used as the base for the HD master, while the "unrated" snippets were upscaled... still better than nothing! I'm honestly surprised Germany hasn't attempted NRNS2/Raging Thunder (or rather "Karate Tiger 2" in Germany) or NRNS3/Blood Brothers (or "Kick-Boxer 2" in Germany... the titles get super confusing there), especially since King of the Kickboxers has unofficially been known as NRNS4. Makes me wonder what the film elements are like for 2 and 3 at this point

You are correct regarding the upscaling of the unrated scenes. I'd kill for a blu-ray of NRNS2.

What's funny is there's been various rumors about tangled rights in the US involving Shapiro-Glickenhaus, Synapse, etc... but that's probably just for the US cut. Granted, I do wonder if there's still a decent master of the export/longer cut.

Unlike NRNS1, which had exclusive footage in the New World Pictures cut of the film (mainly stock inserts, but the biggest inclusion being the date with Jason and Kelly) as well as an alternate music score, I'm pretty sure NRNS2 and 3 just whittled down their respective export/longer cuts into the US versions. Though I know NRNS2 sometimes has varying music in the end (alternate music when Avedon and Hues are fighting in the office hut, plus reprising "Everywhere With You" during the end credits.)

Either way, SOMETHING on blu would be nice! Those Universal DVDs are starting to get ancient, lol.

I haven't watched this "masterpiss" since I was about five years old. I shudder to think what it's like now...

It'll do for £7.

I assume this is going to be the same as with Wake of Death, meaning no subs = no deal for me
A shame. Actually want to watch both.

Tried to watch this again recently, appalling acting but great action scenes, ended up fast forwarding through the non action bits.

Nostalgic, yes, but an awful film.

If this has the original US soundtrack, it's a no-brainer for me. Bought that cheap DVD set of the 3 movies a few months ago, and even though I thought the picture quality was acceptable on the first one, the overdubbed soundtrack pretty much ruins it.
