Strange this gets announced on the same day that Russell Crowe calls out P. J. Hogan for lying about him auditioning for the movie:

Pure imagination on behalf of this director. I did not audition for this film. I have never done a table read with the actress mentioned. Would be funny if it wasn’t so pointless.

This movie was featured on Sony's 2019 4K UHD poll, although I never expected Sony to actually release it on 4K UHD.

I think there is now a 100% chance Sony releases a 4K UHD of Sleepless In Seattle next year for it 30th anniversary which would be great because Capelight is releasing When Harry Met Sally on 4K UHD next year:

Not sure a romantic comedy will sell that well on 4K UHD but still nice to see a release

So i can easily buy this movie in the best possible quality ever in home video, in a relatively cheap edition, but if i want Lawrence of Arabia, TaxiDriver and the Last Picture Show, award winning classics, i have to buy ugly, expensive steelbooks or very expensive boxes with movies i don’t want? No knock on people who want this is 4k… happy for you… but Sony’s approach is absolutely baffling.

Crowe claiming Hogan wasn't being truthful in telling a very unflattering story is very different from any proof that Hogan's story was untrue.

This is a visual confection, gorgeously shot on 35mm film. It's been streaming in 4K for a while, using the master that was used for the botched "Mastered in 4K" Blu-Ray, with the atrocious crushed blacks.

I'll be thrilled to have this on UHD, and the deleted footage is the icing on the wedding cake.

As much as I love Sleepless in Seattle, I think a 30th Ann. 4K UHD BD next year would be cool! It can look even better, I hope.
