Kino will be releasing an Abbott and Costello Horror Collection on 4K UHD! It's tentatively scheduled for Late Summer / Early Fall.

Update (7/28/25): Due to studio restraints, Kino will now be releasing some titles individually this year, with a full collection in 2026:

Surprised Frankenstein isn't being released by Universal themselves on 4K. This is probably gonna be my 3rd/4th copy of it at this point lol.

Yeah, this is a pretty great acquisition for Kino. Should sell well. With SF having released the full A&C set on Blu-ray, I thought they might have had first dibs on a 4K release. It looks like Universal are splitting format rights here, like MGM, and Paramount have done. If true, I wonder if we might see some other Universal 4K only releases that are with SF? For instance, the Hammer Horror films.

Maybe Shout isn't interested in releasing older movies anymore? The Strangler and Sorry, Wrong Number are the last pre-1970 movies I can think of them releasing and those were both in early 2023.

Hoping Kino can grab Criss-Cross, The Black Cat (this one already has a newer remaster from Universal), and the Blue Dahlia in the next Universal deal.

I assume you mean the The Strangler because Shout have never released The Stranger.

Day 1. I was just posting about how I wished A&C Meet Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde and A&C Meet The Killer, Boris Karloff would get solo releases, because I was not interested in that big Shout set just for those films. This is even better.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Hold That Ghost not really much of a “horror,” despite the title?
