I want Dangerous Minds on BD.

Why not. Last time I saw the flick was 1996. And I thought it was a nice movie. Plus nice soundtrack.

It was good to see Michelle Phifer but that movie was wack to me! Gangsta's Paradise the best song Coolio ever made! Got Em!!

I never saw this movie, but I remember my junior-high class doing a report on the actual LouAnne Johnson, author of the book the film was based on. I've wanted to see this movie for years, but I never bought it on DVD, and if a Blu-Ray release is not far away then I'll hold out for it.

Disney is not going to put out a blu for this film any time soon. It will probably never get one unless they start licensing out content from the Hollywood and Touchstone lines again. If you want a physical copy, I'd pick up the dvd while you can.

I graduated from the high school this movie was based on in 1974. Carlmont High School straddled the border of of Belmont and San Carlos in California.

Movie was based about 15 years after I graduated.

Dana Carvey was one year ahead of me although he sometimes lies about where he went to high school.

In my sophomore year we had busing and in my opinion it didn't work really well. Beginning in my sophomore year we had a riot ever year right before Christmas vacation between the blacks and the whites and they would close the school early.

Over those 15 years since I had graduated many parents pulled their kids and put them in private schools or catholic schools. My friend's brothers went to Serra High School [Catholic] which is where Tom Brady and Barry Bonds went.

I was in one of the first years of busing integration and I guess over time it got worse and worse and worse until you ended up with the situation portrayed in Dangerous Minds.

Belmont, San Carlos, San Mateo [the biggest most well know city in our area] were basically middle to upper middle class neighborhoods.

Pretty crazy this has never had a blu-ray but at least does stream in HD . Just give us a 4K , I'll even take Millcreek.
