Hey everyone,
My buddy and I have finished all three of the EA co-op games (Split Fiction, A Way Out and It Takes Two). They were our favorites. We also have enjoyed Battlefront II and even Helldivers II to a lesser extent. Can you recommend any other games that we might enjoy? We were thinking of maybe a sports game. 1. I already own Gran Turismo 7, but he doesn't. Not sure if he would enjoy that one. 2. Interested in MLB, NBA or NFL game, but most of them have gotten so complicated. You have to build a franchise, build a stadium, merch, sell tickets, etc. We don't need all of that BS. We just want to build a team, start a "season" and play. Maybe it keeps track of our stats. Nothing complicated. Just fun. Thoughts? |

I recommend any of the Saints Row games. 3, 4, and the Reboot are available on most modern platforms and can be played co-op all the way through. They can be as structured or as open-world and directionless as you want. The reboot gets a lot of hate, but it’s fine mechanically.
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is a fantastic two stick shooter puzzle game that scales puzzles based on the amount of players, though it has graphical issues on PS5. Definitely give it a shot if you’re on PS4/PC/Switch though. Some of the Soulsborne-likes have great co-op options like Code Vein and Nioh 2. Any of the Earth Defense Force games are the ultimate co-op comfort food experiences. If the humor gels with you the Borderlands games are great for drop-in co-op adventures. A few of the Resident Evils have full co-op campaigns. 5 and 6 are a great place to start. Some of them have a mercenaries mode that can be incredibly robust. I spent more time with the co-op side modes on Revelations to than the I did with the campaign. Streets of Rage 4 is a great classic-styled beat em up with a staggering amount of content that can be as breezy or as challenging as you want it to be. Some of the classic Boomer Shooters like Doom 1 & 2 and Quake 1 & 2 have full online and off co-op and deathmatch support. Cross platform support too. |

Overcooked: All You Can Eat
Broforce Trine 4 & 5 (the first 3 also have co-op but the level design is much better suited to co-op in 4 & 5) Cuphead Scott Pilgrim vs the World Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Moving Out (the first one, the second one isn't as good) |

Here are a few more recommendations...
Baldur's Gate 3 (co-op online only, not local) If you wanna get into some serious RPG territory, Baldur's Gate 3 has online co-op, which has recently been expanded to be multi-platform. The Ascent (co-op online and local) This is a cool action RPG/shooter style game in a cyberpunk setting. I had a lot of fun with this one. Dead Island 2 (co-op online only) First person zombie killing game. Story is a little weak, but from my understanding the entire campaign is co-op ready. Deep Rock Galactic (co-op online only) Uh, basically you play as space dwarves. You mine, kill things, its a lot of fun. I think a lot of people in Helldivers 2 and Deep Rock run in the same crowd. |
