(I skimmed this section, I didn't see a thread about Element TVs)
Last week I bought an Element 43" TV (E550AE43C) at Walmart ($138). https://elementelectronics.com/tv/55...meless-xumo-tv I also have a Sony UBP-X700 player. So far, the few Dolby Vision enhanced UHD Blu-rays I've played on the Element TV look fantastic. I also tried VHS SLP videotapes (I record the MeTV red-eye sci-fi block of TV shows on a T-120), the VHS low resolution 4:3 picture looks OK. I was looking for a low cost Dolby Vision capable TV for my bedroom home theater system (and my basement home theater system), this Element TV fits the bill. Anyone else have this Element TV and another brand of Dolby Vision capable TV, how do they compare? Kirk Bayne |

That's great to hear you enjoy uhd performance on the tv and even VHS is passable on it to your eyes. VHS looks pretty reasonable on my CRT tv. I was recently staying at a place that had an Element tv and I forgot to look at the model. Satellite/tv content on it looked really bad on it. But I have definitely been curious in the one for sale at WM for the obvious reason they are incredibly cheap. I can only get up to around 40-43" max for a spare tv due to the cabinet dimensions and am unsure what tv I will even go with as the pre-50" tv sizes are pretty much being phased out as quality performers. It looks like most 40-43" tvs are fighting to be under $250 or so with more aim towards budget and impulse purchases. Then they really jump in price to closer to a thousand dollars for more premium offerings, though something like OLED at only 43" seems like overkill without sitting pretty close to the tv.

What was wrong with the Satellite/tv picture quality on the Element TV you saw?
I have the S & M UHD Blu-ray test/setup 3 disc set, one test of Dolby Vision told me that my Walmart active HDMI splitter wasn't suitable for Dolby Vision. I have played only a few of the S & M disc tests, so far, my Element TV seems to provide a good picture (accurate color and brightness). I plan to get a >43" Sony or LG TV (w/Dolby Vision) for my main media room (to be set up in the near future). Kirk Bayne |

The older Element sets definitely had quality issues and were prone to component failure. I can't speak about the newer ones, but I rarely see them sold in my part of the country these days and they seem to be mostly sold on the Internet or specific parts of the country where inexpensive/value products are a cornerstone of the retail offerings.
