Wouldn't ..Fletch ... do better on 4K than this?

This movie was so forgettable.

Chevy Chase isn't that popular outside of National Lampoon or Community. Nobody is asking for Bill Murray's 90s output on UHD.

What about Kingpin and Rushmore?

I mostly remember the mediocre movies over his three notable performances. Forgot he was in Kingpin...

Fletch was said to be a borderline title, where they weren't sure whether to do 4k or not. They still haven't formally announced details, or a release date, so I'm still holding out hope that they'll change their minds and do a 4K now too.

The only reason RUSHMORE isn't on 4K yet is cause it's Disney.

Kingpin isn't out yet cause Warner is lazy.

Fletch was announced as a 2K master, so that would have to change as well.

You can't compare this to any other title from the same studio because you don't know what titles, and the associated details, were available to KL.

You're right. Could have sworn it was with Warner.

I wonder if Uni wants to do it themself? It did get a HD DVD release, so it was a higher priority title to get to market back in 2008 (I think it was Unis last title on the format, if memory serves me right...either that or The Pianist?).

Though it'd be great if Arrow got rights to it AND the sequel and released them on UHD like they did with the Tremors films.

Hold your horses, Kino! You haven't dated your 4K titles without a release date.

That’s their MO why should they change it now?

Wanted to point out that the Blu-ray Paramount released back in 2021 mentions on the back that it's from a 4k scan supervised by Lod Lurie. I'm guessing Kino decided to choose this for 4k because all they had to do was have Paramount do Dolby Vision for the film (Ala Nobody's Fool and The Score).
