Hell’s Kitchen/Master Chef discussion thread

well, since the other thread was lost, might as well start up a new one.

back to back nights again this week for anyone that missed that last week. it'll be on both 2nite and 2morrow night agai. i double checked my local programming this morning.

But I got real tired of the crying on masterchef that just doesn't do anything for me. I'd have given someone a yes then if they cried change to NO.

I guess we’re a select few who like Gordon Ramsey!!

I like watching all of the “professional” chefs F**K up royally on hell’s kitchen and then hear Ramsey tell them to p!ss off!!

Are they going to start cooking on master chef 2nite or is it just who makes the cut again??

i forgot how BAD the beginning of masterchef was.... its complete drama and sob stories with nothing going on...

the blind girl was cool to see etc but besides that...i dont really care about seeing people cooking to get on the show... just get on with it already....

hells kitchen looks to be getting a bit "reality tvish" with the "shaving of the heads" and the scallop milkshakes....but still love this show...

havent seen a group do this poorly though..and lots of trashy people this year lol

I didn't realize the thread was gone. Completely forgot. Yeah, the crying on there is annoying. I'd be ready to say just stop it to them.

Agreed on the beginning of Master Chef. Tuesday night last week I was watching other stuff back and forth. I'm ready for them to get to the competition part.

The Hell's Kitchen bit with the shaving of the heads was a joke. The 2 people were Scott's friends. Funny though how many were willing to shave their heads when he even said "volunteers". Dummies. Pretty much every season I believe, they pull something on the chefs. One season they had them all arriving on a bus together and there was this one weird person with them and then they pulled off the mask and such they had on and it turned out to be Gordon. The scallop milkshake thing isn't really anything new either. Wasn't it a season or two ago when they put meat in a blender and served it up to the losers?

This season does probably have the most trashy, rude, confrontational people yet though.

Hell's Kitchen has become a show full of nothing but white trash people that you can't stand rooting for. Not sure why Ramsay and crew go this route when his other shows show none of that for the most part, but this show is impossible for me to watch.

Now Masterchef I like.

Easy answer is look at the network it's on. They give us stuff like Celebrity Boxing. It would be Gordon vs them. Master Chef has 2 other "stars" to deal with. I haven't seen Master Chef from other countries but I imagine they're all about the same, as in format.

I watched Master Chef last night up until the point where the women was told no and then they went to taste her food again. You knew what was coming... out comes Joe to say I changed my mind, blah blah blah. The lady started crying and I said ok, I'll tune back in next show when the 18 people actually start to compete.

Hell's Kitchen... I don't know Barbie didn't get sent packing. I didn't see/notice that other girl doing nearly as bad. My only guess is there was alot of things we didn't see. In other words, they've purposely showed alot of Barbie's screw ups but not that other girls. The one cracked me up with her, I'll choke you out. You wanna get choked out? I'm like who in the world is gonna give you a nice job at a big time restaurant when you're acting like a fool.

Hell's Kitchen.. wow I can't believe that guy ruined all but 1 piece of the cod and never even sent any out to customers. I'd like to know how many pieces of fish went into the trash thanks to him. Lots of bad cooking tonight.

Haha that one ladies dish looked more like it was supposed to be pasta or something with all the stuff she had in it. I think for some it was a case of, I don't know this is gonna taste so I'll just add more stuff to it. Trying to be all fancy while making a pile of slop. The lady who undercooked the rice & scallops killed me. They even said to her about the rice being done and she said, oh it will be. You'd think they (the contestants) could take the time to stick a spoon in and have a taste before being embarrassed.

Reminds me of Royce from Hell's Kitchen who had trouble with salads and then could not cook spaghetti. C'mon, if you can't cook pasta, you should be at home microwaving your Hungry Man dinner.

My wife and I watched it(along with American Idol) in the earlier seasons. I can't even remember the last contestant who won the last time we watched. How sad is that? Might have been the season after Rock won? Having watched Ramsey on BBCA with his own shows I was a little disappointed with HK. Like most shows it started out strong, but became more about the drama than the actual talent of the contestants. Not to mention feeling like the winners were picked for the same reason. Every time I hear Ramsey deliver a one liner in a commercial I cringe and wonder who wrote that awful punch line for him? I'd much rather watch him at his best than the parody he's become on this show. MC seems to be better suited for him. I've caught some of it, but not enough to make me a regular viewer

yea, my brother was saying have made them eat gross stuff etc in the past. guess i just dont remember it....and i dont think i saw that season with the vid... thats where he basically tries to fight ramsay?

Joe's "character" is so ridiculously annoying...its so corny how he goes up....SMELLS the food haha and tastes it, shakes his head and walks back... COOOORNY

I like the UK Kitchen Nightmares much more then the US version of the show. I really like Hell's Kitchen, but I think alot of the negative things about the show is the fault of FOX, who airs it. This past week they showed adverts for I think it was 2 dating type shows they have coming. I was like holy hell. The editing of the show at times can be really annoying with lots of 1 second cuts. It's like a strobe light of images. The season Rock won was the first season I watched entirely. After him I think it was... Christina maybe? I liked her and was glad she won.

Past winners haven't all faired too well. I think it was on wikipedia where I read some info on some of them. The one girl, I forget her name.. in the finale it came down to her and Jay (he had blue hair). I think she was the one that danced in a fountain or something and she was flirting with Jay alot. She had a young son I believe. Anyhow, she won and was supposed to work at a restaurant in London. Well, for whatever reason she had trouble getting her VISA or something like that and never even went. So it's like nobody won that season.

Yeah, the video I posted shows the whole encounter. It's pretty funny to see someone get all bent out of shape because they were asked who is up to nomination and why. Oh the horror at such a hard question to answer.

I felt bad for her when she didn't get pick for the teams but she did a very good job with the Apple Pie challenge..
