House On Haunted Hill 3D Blu-ray (1959) [Region Free] [BD-R]

I was looking through the new 3D releases and I see William Castles 1959 House On Haunted Hill as coming to Blu-Ray 3D in September, now is this legit? Cause I don't see any news of this being released by any studio. But even though this movie wasn't filmed in 3D I see this as being a great thing as most of William Castles horror films were in theater gimmicks that don't hold up now, another one his movies that should get a 3D conversion is The Tingler cause without the in theater gimmicks that was attached to this movie it looks ridiculous.

It is probably an "AI" conversion. The ability to convert a 2D movie to 3D with AI generated depth maps is advancing fast. For an example I posted a 3D version of "The Terror" I made for download (free) in the General Discussion thread.

The real problem is getting a quality digital version of a title in the public domain. Most are poor quality. The stuff I convert for my home use from a quality source is really pretty solid and improving with advances in the software.

Edit: House on Haunted Hill is listed as being in the public domain - FYI.

The database listing says Region A, perhaps it's an error, if not then it's bound to be an AI autoconversion.

I just meant that I’d love to see Andrew tackle it; I wasn’t commenting on the database listing. I would have no interest in a straight AI autoconversion with no manual work from loving caring hands.

It is an error, the disc will be region free. It was my first time trying to add a title so it was a bit random and quite hair-raising - still not sure if I've managed to successfully add a cover image or not.

That is not a bad idea! Andrew is still working out the tiers and rewards… he is putting together some really cool stuff either way!

I think demand could be very strong - but I’m guessing folk are still on the fence, waiting to see how Nightmare Castle turns out. Personally, I’m more than happy to put my money down for this, so have registered.
