Been wanting to see this in HD for a very long time. Will keep an eye on this for sure. The cover must be some sort of behind the scenes shot since you can see the blue screen in the cockpit windows.

At long last. I have been waiting ages for this one.

It's not a masterpiece like the original Russian film but it is enjoyable nevertheless.

It has been unfairly maligned over the years - it's not nearly as bad as some people make out.

I hope this has a good transfer and decent extras.

I watch the DVD at least once a year. Unlike the original film which I have tried to watch 2-3 times and fallen asleep or got bored each time.

Its not a classic but its very good and why its taken this long to be released is beyond me when they could have released it on the back of Gravity (especially this one given Clooney is in it and the subject matter), Interstellar, The Martian etc...

I actually watched the Criterion dvd once. Quite proud of myself I want to see this one again much, much more though.

Probably because those three were more crowd-pleasing feel good movies while this one was notoriously hated by audiences (it's one of the few films to ever get an F Cinemascore). The general audiences who loved Gravity or The Martian would likely be indifferent or outright detest this one.

Fox likes to pretend the film doesn't exist, even with the names Clooney, Soderbergh, and Cameron. It's also perhaps the reason why Idiocracy remains unavailable.

Meanwhile, how many people here first became familiar with Viola Davis from this one?

Someone at last should dare and say that original movie sucks! Yes, this one is not masterpiece, but for me it's much and much better than super boring russian long play torture! I have this one on DVD and going to get on Blu-ray! Was waiting several years! It deserves much better rating than it has!

I think in some ways it's better and more efficient, in other ways, not. Both are pretty similar overall, though. I'm excited to own both.
