Default Absolution (2024) Liam Neeson

Random question, but has anyone seen this in stores etc? I'm from Australia and was thinking of getting it but Amazon seems to be the only seller offering this title and the price seems high. Did this get a strange release in the US on home video?

There was definitely a US release last week UPC: 0850028052778

As you say I don't see it in any of the usual places. Blu-ray.com lists it https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=35597

France next month: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Absol...lu-ray/377953/

Link still works for me takes me to https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DPGN5JKK/

I watched it too and really like it.

As a massive Neeson fan I do lessen my standards sometimes but it's a good story for sure and he's always worth a watch. You can tell they had very little money though but that's the norm now.

Yeah liked it too -- was of his better recent efforts for sure that's why I want the bluray that seems to have received a weird release.

That's because like other recent movies it was released via Amazon Prime in Australia. Usually these movies end up on digital here but not Blu-ray.

Yeah I know that's why I'm asking about the US release. I've given up buying anything local here anymore.

US cover:

eBay

Back cover looks like a bootleg or one of those nasty BD-Rs.

It's a bit plain but I wonder if that's because Samuel Goldwyn are a little company.

Yeah, and the distributors past releases look the same. Also seems to be region locked.

Shame. Think I will wait to be safe and just buy it digitally if there's never a Region B release

Neeson's last film, In The Land of Saints and Sinners was also released on BD from the Samuel Goldwin label.

I’m pretty sure most of VVS releases here in Canada are region free so you may feel free to import that as an option.

Brian Orndorf's review https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Absol...377004/#Review

Fair review I think.

I liked the film (ie Neeson) but if they'd removed at least 10mins of junk it would have been a very good thriller.

Moland does make good films first noticed him with Aberdeen which I remember the US DVD picture quality being an abomination. Cold Pursuit (again with Neeson) was very enjoyable as was In Order of Disappearance (which Moland remade as Cold Pursuit).

As I said I think they had very little money (although IMDb list $30,000,000 which I cannot believe) for Absolution but that shouldn't mean nearly everything you shoot should get in the final cut.
