Criterion have yet to license a film from Apple unfortunately. I'm still hoping for several Apple films to get a Criterion release, like CODA, and Joel Coen's The Tragedy of Macbeth.

I would say this Italian release isn't really an indication of anything outside of Italy. It could be exactly like CODA, where Eagle Pictures got the rights for a physical release.

Huh, I could've sworn I remembered seeing something about them having a deal with Apple and CODA was rumored. That's a bummer though. Hopefully we can get someone to get a deal with Apple in the U.S.

Yeah, when The Velvet Underground (2021) BD was announced, it seemed to be an indication of an Apple licensing deal, but the back cover for that says it was licensed from Polygram Entertainment rather than Apple Films.

This actually is a broader indicator they agreed to license video (and likely VOD) rights to their theatrical distribution partners in respective territories, so I’d expect we’ll get an announcement from Paramount in the US relatively soon.

I would figure for the domestic release, it would come from Paramount. Or did they just handle the theatrical run?

I thought this was a Paramount release, so hopefully Paramount will release it on 4K outside of Italy.

If it's just this to start with, I'll get this. Then, if Paramount releases it in the US, I'll get that. And then if Criterion or someone releases it a couple of years from now, I'll get that, too, LOL.
