Default Supernatural: The Complete Series

It seems a pre-order has gone up on Amazon for both a DVD and a Blu-ray set of all 15 seasons of Supernatural in one box -- release date TBA. It's expensive, as expected. The Blu-ray one comes with a digital copy:

Now why the hell didn’t the Arrow complete series set come with the digital code? At least this is, anyway; but that price is insane.

I can see a future special edition put in a 67 Impala box. Eventually.

Jesus Christ that price tag. That's not going to sway anyone who feels obligated to watch this.

I would rather see a special edition that comes inside an actual '67 Impala.

The current price is just the MSRP; it will sell for substantially less closer to its actual release date. Also, 15 seasons is a LOT of content and each season of this show had about 20+ episodes.

Damn, that price...but yeah I am sure it will go down. If it's just the 15 seasons as released on their own with a wrap around it, I'll hold off for a bit.

If this offers up something exclusive, whether it be physical goodies or exclusive on-disc content, then I'll hop on sooner.

Default Good times. Bad times. End times.

To each his own, but I don't consider the $359.99 MSRP unreasonable at all. We're talking 327 episodes over 15 seasons spread across 57 discs, all BD50's except for Disc 3 of Season 3. That's $24 a season, $1.10 an episode not to mention the Digital Copy which regularly sells for $200 having been on sale last year at the conclusion of Season 15 for $100. And again, that's MSRP.

Quote:
Episode breakdown per disc...
That's a lot of physical media goodness right there. I own Seasons 1-14 on Blu-ray and pre-ordered Season 15 already. Currently watching Season 6, the first season that included lossless audio. Seasons 1-5 are Dolby Digital 5.1 and Seasons 6-14 are DTS-HD MA 5.1. The audio and video have been superb so far. There's also all the "Special Features" content. See below.

Just imagine for a moment if everyone respected the Blu-ray format like Warner does, especially with respects to TV shows. You don't see these Season 1 and you're done Blu-ray releases with Warner. You also don't see them dropping Blu-ray mid-series or just prior to the final season of something. Those cases are almost worse if you ask me. Say what you will about Warner, but they commited out the gate, many of their TV series releases early on including both the DVD and Blu-ray. As a customer Warner has earned my respect and then some. TV shows are broadcast in HD and should be delivered on disc that way. Warner gets it. As such, I'll be supporting this complete series release and irrespective of how it's packaged. I'll be gifting my parents the Digital Copy and gifting the Blu-ray's to a buddy of mine. Physical media for the win baby!

The individual seasons typically go for $10-15ish during Black Friday though, don't they?

WB has dropped shows after 1 season though and have also dropped shows mid run and kicked them to WAC and then even WAC has dropped them after that. WB might be the best TV on BD studio but let's not say their record is completely spotless.

Guilty as charged then. Guess I haven't been following Warner's Blu-ray releases that closely. I don't watch everything they put out. And yes, the individual season releases can be had for less and certainly so on Black Friday. I was talking MSRP though and I doubt that's what people will be paying. Will be interesting to see how this is packaged. A bonus disc for the series as whole would be a nice touch. I've never really been one for bonus content, but lately I've been going back and checking out bonus content for this and that so.

This is an absolute must own for me. I have seasons 1-13 DVD, but they will remain on the shelf from here on out. They just don't hold up on a 4K television. That is a steep price tag, but I don't see it selling for anywhere near that price. But I'll pay it if I have to. This is going to be a fantastic set. Thanks for the insight, AmishParadise

Never seen an episode but will be getting this. As far as it being 15 seasons I just burned through 12 total seasons of Buffy and Angel again quickly. Not having a life sometimes has its advantages. I predict this thing will be $225 by release day.

Day one and I am glad each season is getting its own case instead of those stupid jumbo cases that are used for complete series nowadays. Digital copy is a also a sweet bonus.
