Default Battlefield (Untitled - TBA)

https://www.ign.com/articles/exclusi...vince-zampella

Quote:
Ahead of its Investor Day on September 17, EA revealed fresh details on its untitled Battlefield game alongside its first officially concept art, which IGN can exclusively reveal for the first time. IGN can also confirm that Battlefield will be returning to a modern setting after stints in World War I, World War II, and the near future.

While EA is cagey about specifics when it comes to the concept art, including declining to name of the city where its set (though it looks a lot like Italy, France, or somewhere else in Europe), it does include details that should stand out to longtime fans of the series. Among other things, it appears to suggest that ship-to-ship and helicopter combat will be part of the new game, and that it will feature natural disasters like wildfires. Its greyish color scheme is evocative of Battlefield 4, which remains one of the most popular games in the series despite being released a decade ago.

Back in the day, I was always a Battlefield guy. I like Call of Duty campaigns, but vastly prefer BF multiplayer by far. Unfortunately I didn't really like 5 and noped right out of 2042 after I played the beta (I think Bad Company 2 was the peak for me). I'm hoping DICE can bring Battlefield back into the spotlight as a solid multiplayer FPS competitor.

Like you said, they need to ditch the weird hero shooter style classes of 2042 and go back to class loadouts.

That's what made BF great back in the day, just a squad of 4 with different classes to compliment each other

Only interested in SP which I assume this won't have. Like the SP in #3-6.

I wish they would remake/ remaster Battlefield 1942. It has a good balance of land, sea and air combat.

Having a campaign again is a step up already from 2142. As a Battlefield fan since BF1942, I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'm not preordering. I didn't like V for the most part and I noped out of 2142 after playing the beta. However, there is a glimmer of hope... I'm getting some BF3/4 vibes out of this trailer.

There's an SP campaign in this? I'm in if so. I played the campaigns in 3/4/1/5 and that's all I was interested in.

If you have a system that can play the original disc versions, I'd recommend the BF Bad Company games too. Both of them have been delisted from digital storefronts though.

2142 was so horrible the first week I actually requested a refund from the crashing and issues and MS said I'd logged to many hours but I actually went through the process it was that bad. Don't think I ever touched it again after that first week

I do think they learned given that collapse I just cant picture with how epic a fail that was this won't be better

I'm hoping for the best because I'm ready for a new shooter. I miss the days of BF3 & BF4. I had some really fun team games with folks from this site. A great game shouldn't be all that hard. Just give us the game mechanics of BF3 & BF4, the level destruction of BF2 and the visuals of BFV.

So am I. Can't help but think back to the Bad Company 2 days when I was actually in a clan and we played constantly. I'd love to see Battlefield 6 be successful.

Same. From what I've saw it looks like an absolute blast. I'll find out in a couple days.
