In the article about the theaters owners not being happy about the release windows, there was mention of the studios wanting prices lowered.

AMC gives up leverage again. I wonder if Regal and Cinemark will follow.

It will be interesting to see how this helps the mid-summer releases

The films scheduled for release in late June and early July that should benefit from the discounts, which will be available only to AMC’s loyalty members, include Apple Inc.’s F1, Jurassic World Rebirth from Comcast Corp.’s Universal Pictures, Superman from Warner Bros. and Paramount’s Smurfs.

AMC used to have great prices all the time in the 1980s and 1990s and 2000s. But once they renovated they raised all their prices 3x as much it seemed. Last time I was there, 2 tickets were $30.

I think Cinemark does this heavy discount ticket price on Tuesdays but am never free to get the discount prices that day.
