Dear David Decker,
I have a proposal for Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment: to issue and release, for the first time EVER on Blu Ray, in time for its 80th Anniversary since its radio debut, "Queen for a Day," the 1951 Black-and-White Motion Picture lovingly Remastered from the original Black-and-White 1951 MGM Film Prints. Written by Seton Miller and Directed by Arthur Miller for MGM Subsidiary United Artists, "Queen for a Day" was released theatrically on July 7, 1951; a loose adaptation of the radio show of the same name (originally debuting on November 27, 1945 before transitioning to the infant medium of television in 1956), "Queen for a Day" told 3 fictional vignettes linked together with the radio Game Show of the same name, each one read by producer Jim Morgan (playing himself) as told to "Queen for a Day" radio host Jack Bailey (likewise playing himself in the film). "Queen for a Day" also featured the big-screen debut of future "Star Trek" star Leonard Nimoy, with each vignette telling their stories of how the radio "Queen for a Day" impacted their lives after appearing on the radio show. Tentatively, David, "Queen for a Day" shall be issued on Blu Ray on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at a cost of ONLY $9.99 wherever Blu Rays are sold; as an added Bonus, a BONUS Disc shall also be included with ALL 10 Existing Episodes of the TV Version of "Queen for a Day," each one lovingly Restored and Remastered from the original Network TV Prints, INCLUDING Commercials. Sincerely, Steve Arino |
