Saw this listed the other day. Was wondering if Arrow were gonna release it one day, but I guess they didn't really want it.

Based on Darkman and The Shadow, this could well be a port of the Shout! release.

Half of me wants to buy this, the other half thinks it might be best left in the past! I remember me and my brothers laughing a lot at this in the 80s.

Have the disc in hand and the transfer seems to be the same judging from US reviews (I don't own the Shout Factory release so can't say for sure).

The biggest difference is we only get a trailer, not the commentary etc.

The A/V is pretty good all round though.

Hang onto your original MGM DVD for the commentary, behind the scenes stuff, music video, photos etc.

The image isn't a night and day difference, but the BluRay is less noisy and with slightly better tonal range.

There's also a typo on the back of the packaging ("UHF is a pace you'll want to visit" - missing the 'l' from 'place') which may be indicative of the amount of care that went into this release...

Still, who thought this film would ever get a UK Blu-Ray release? "Supplies!" :-)

From the BBFC it seems that Altitude are putting out a new UK release of UHF for its 35th anniversary. Didn't think they did catalogue titles?

they do mediabooks on behalf of Capelight

Mean Streets was Altitude but licensed out to Second Sight

Wonder what happened to the UK Capelight release of this - they classified it over a year ago and it never appeared.
